Trump definitely attracts racists because he specifically panders to them with race baiting rhetoric. As for Duke and the white nationalists who support him, they are gullible idiots if they think Trump would do anything to advance their agenda. Trump knows those morons supports him, and he doesn't condemn them not because he cares about their agenda, but because he's using them for votes. He does attract racists with his ridiculous ideas and a lot of White Nationalists are pulling for him. I don't think they consider him "one of them" but they consider his policies consistent enough with some of their core values that they want to vote for him. You can also see racism at his rallies.
