I've always thought there's a conspiracy behind the progressivism movement

I don't think it's just me.

I think there exists something much more sinister, a hidden agenda of some sort, to debase and destroy the great American value system.

Think about it. Something doesn't add up. Something strange is going on. Today it's "intolerant" to want to secure your own border. If you refused to serve queer couples 10 or maybe 15 years ago, it wouldn't even make local newspaper because people know there are bigger fish to worry about. Today it easily becomes a national spectacle. Almost immediately after the FL gay club shooting, there were a flood of twitters criticizing conservatives for WANTING to make a case out of this before most conservatives did make any comment, for alleged "Islamphobia". And look at the 3rd wave feminists these days, look at those SJWs. 50 years ago SJWs were fighting FOR fair treatment for all, today SJWs are fighting for privileges for "minorities" by their standards.

The worst part about all this is the decriminalization and casualization of socialism. 30 years ago, if someone openly claimed to be a socialist, he would have never got the chance to hold any public offices. Now Bernie Sanders is a national sensation, a lot of Patriotic Americans thought he is a viable candidate.

It just doesn't make sense. I mean let's use Occam's razor here, it's either A. There's a conspiracy going on, a cabal/several cabals of political elites are plotting all this or B. This is an inevitable trend of America's social progress.

I know some of you are going with B. I tried B but it still doesn't work out. I mean those progressives and those leftwing professors, what they are trying to promulgate are completely out-of-touch with reality. Most Americans still are fairly conservative and fairly on the right. They still believe you should earn your bread, they still think it's rather humiliating to take government handout, even most democrats agree with this. There's a distinct gap between the American masses and the leftwing intelligentsia. It feels almost as if the guy pushing the progressive agenda went a bit into the overdrive mode and hastened the whole process more than he should.

What do you think? Who's behind this? Foreign government(s)? 5th column?

Let me help you put things into perspective here. Which one upsets you more? A. Thousands of women are being used as sex slaves by the ISIS B, Some Christian fundie refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple.

You clearly would go with A. Yet it recieved far less coverage.

I'm not a conspriracy freak. I laugh at the reptilian overlords stuff and I believe Obama is just another corporate puppet, a new boss that the elite class wanted you to believe to be different than the old boss, but really isn't.

The Turn of the Century Progressives, and they were both Democrats and Republicans deeply changed our Federal Government's role from that described in the Constitution. And like a river overflowing its banks, the Federal Power has been running amuck, because they have too much of it. But even under a flood those old riverbanks work just fine. The key is to lower the flood waters until they once again return to their constitutional channels. Hopefully the election of Trump would be a step in this direction, but we can't know for sure. Certainly Hillary would not be. She is a long slog, further in the wrong direction.

 

IMO to some extent it's being done according to the Communist agenda left over from the Cold War. It was designed to destroy this country and is now close to succeeding. Most progressives probably don't even realize they're being steered, although if they thought it through they would.

Even wrong ideas have wings, it seems. The concern is similar to what many of us believe we see in Islam. IMO it is on robo pilot at this point. The activist role is an accepted part of our society and this is the way they have learned to function. I don't think most of them have any idea where their ideas will actually lead.

From gun control laws that foster crime as they always do, to a welfare state that uses the money of the middle class to buy the pride of the poor at ten cents on the dollar living both worse off than they were before, to a massive multi tiered bureaucracy that tries to stamp out any hint of personal initiative.
