Monopoly in Dentistry and Medical profession

    Have you ever wondered why Dental and Medical prices are so high? Logically it means that there is simply not enough competition in these professions. But why is there insufficient competition? Because it is very difficult to become a dentist or physician. It is very expensive as well as takes 8 years of college. I have a friend who is a Physician Assistant and studied 2 years for this, and he does everything a physician does, except he has to work under a physician. It takes 4 years to become an engineer, yet 8 years to become a doctor. There is a deliberate effort to ensure that becoming a dentist or physician is made very difficult to ensure that few people enter the profession, thereby ensuring less competition and higher prices.
