More than 500,000 Ukrainians spend holidays in Crimea — minister

According to the ministry for tourism, more than 3.4 million tourists have visited the peninsula this year

SIMFEROPOL, August 16. /TASS/. More than 500,000 Ukrainians have opted this year for holidays in Crimea that reunited with Russia in 2014 after a coup in Ukraine, the Crimean minister for tourism told Tass on Tuesday.

These tourists go to Crimean health resorts to receive treatment, Sergey Strelbitsky specified. On the whole, the flow of passengers via the border check points with Ukraine has grown more than twofold year-on-year, reaching 1.7 million people, he said.
"Surveys that our ministry carries out, show that no hindrances, no borders, no obstacles put by Ukrainian officials can prevent Ukrainians from going to Crimea," the minister for resorts and tourism said.
According to the ministry, more than 3.4 million tourists have visited the peninsula this year, which is 27.6% more than in 2015. Health resorts are 78% full, he said.
Crimea, where most residents are ethnic Russians, refused to recognize the legitimacy of authorities brought to power amid riots during a coup in Ukraine in February 2014. In mid-March 2014, Crimea re-joined Russia following a referendum. More than 82% of the electorate took part in the vote. Over 96% backed splitting from Ukraine and spoke in favor of reuniting with Russia.

Indeed, the "strange war" :) Our American friends will probably be clearer if it is the latest news translated into an example war Japan and the United States, 1941-1945.

So now it is summer 1943. It took 2.5 years from the start of bloody fighting. Killed hundreds of thousands of people on both sides. However:

    — Yokohama (just now!) severs relations with the American sister cities.

    — The Emperor of Japan has accused the United States that the US is "aggressively closes the market for Japanese goods".

    — Japanese athletes are photographed at the Olympics, with American athletes than cause resentment advisers of the Emperor of Japan.

    — 10 million Japanese migrants work in the U.S. on a visa-free border crossing and transferred to Japan every year several billion dollars in earnings. While the Japanese government wants to cancel visa-free entry of Americans in Japan.

    — Court of Tokyo after two years of appeals refused to recognize the fact of the armed aggression of the USA against Japan.

    ...

This list can be continued still very long... At my work two coworkers this summer went to rest in the Ukraine. A country that considers itself at war with Russia. Imagine, Americans who go to Japan to relax in 1943... :D

The photo Ukrainians queue waiting to cross the border in Russia this summer. The victims of aggression go to the aggressor.
