Personally.... I suspected that something like this would occur in the final weeks of The Donald's
    campaign.

I am not complaining........ it is only logical that if the ILLEGAL immigration of Mexicans to the USA
can be dramatically DECREASED then it will be possible to INCREASE LEGAL immigration by
    similar numbers.

But with an end to illegal immigration that would put an end to slave labor on the farm. All those grapes won't pick themselves.

No, it wouldn't. Many of the migrant farm workers are in the US on legal work visas. Illegal immigration has little to no bearing on the produce industry

But what The Donald has been talking about will make it possible to
pay Mexican farm labourers a wage that they can support their families on.

Up here in Nova Scotia the government has came up with immigration laws that
make it possible for companies to legally bring in labourers who are willing to
accept minimum wage jobs, that us locals really can't be bothered with.

America can do this also.......... but legally.......... and the biggest change will be that
the drug cartels will not be able to get their product across into the southern USA
    so easily.

But minimum wage is going up to $15 an hour when the farmers only wanted to pay $10 or $7.

The wall would be constructed on the American side of the border and it's impossible for the US government to make Mexico pay for it. Trump needs to make more realistic election promises to garner more support. Hillary is outraising Trump by 6 to 1 and Trump's puny war chest is further diminishing prospects for a Trump presidency.

True, but are you willing to pay for the grapes at the grocery store when they are getting paid $15 an-hour, paying their federal and state taxes; the business are paying their federal and state taxes for documented workers; and for some, going to college that is also free. Or, accept the current state of affairs when it comes to your personal grocery bill. Sure their will be a white backlash with higher taxes and higher grocery costs.

Got an idea, you support 1.5 trillion dollars in more federal spending per-year to remove people; and support a living wage of $15 per-hour to pick grapes and all farm foods. I am betting you would be talking about joining the TEA PARTY. This time, talking about paying for the removal of unwanted people.

But take a look at who are The Donald's core support group:

    https://ca.news.yahoo.com/trump-ex-staffer-shares-secret-113004680.html
Trump ex-staffer shares secret on his core supporters: They're not who you think

    ....
These same people might tend to really like the idea of ECONOMIC JUBILEE......
and from what I have read a Jubilee year begins on Yom Kippur 2016 and goes to the day before Yom Kippur 2017.......

Trump's core supporters would tend to feel that something major is being set up that will help to positively transform the
    USA and world economy.........

I think that The Donald's core supporters would tend to support.......
something similar to an America wide Worgly Austria local money experiment....... it will be GREAT!?!?

    .....

    http://www.politicalforum.com/relig...ations-should-print-their-own-currencies.html

Most North American churches have a desire to assist the poor and the oppressed. Well….. in 2014 efforts by a group of socially active Christians could easily transform dozens of homeless people into actors….. who are playing the role of homeless people….. and the specific efforts to help them could becomes scenes in a series of documentary and reality films designed to give the homeless people a job that finances their getting an apartment or at least a group home.

Most of us are unaware of the Worgl, Austria local currency experiment that was conducted during the Great Depression and how successfully it was copied in hundreds of communities in the USA. As a matter of fact…… it looks like what these communities accomplished played a significant role in inspiring the USA government to alter the monetary system in many positive ways.

But..... giving the workers better equipment to work with.... and better training knowing that they may continue working
for the farmer next year as well........ can set in motion an economic boom in America that could be generated out of a massive
increase in the value placed on land and real estate.... that is a little further away from urban areas.......

    Interestingly enough.......

David Wilkerson is also the author of...."The Cross and the Switchblade."

    Exactly!

And The Donald.... for all his many flaws......
will become the type of President who would tend to see the real value in an idea like this......

Maybe we should try adding eighty or more trace minerals to the fruit and veggies that they are picking....
and even if they costed a little more.... they could decrease medical costs for State and federal government.

I don't know how they could do that Dennis. "adding eighty or more trace minerals to the fruit and veggies that they are picking...." I guess they would have to add something to the soil.

    Exactly......
the eighty or more trace minerals can be put in fertilizer for a cost of about
one dollar per year per person.

But the benefits can be enormous.
It could save all the governments of the world
billions of dollars in health care costs.

I guess that farm labour would be one of the areas of exception that
The Donald would have to make.

A lot of small businesses and farms depend on immigrant labor. Their lower wages are part of the business plan. Some couldn't survive on higher wages with all the money problems they have.

Whilst I find it unlikely that it will be built, it is very possible to make "Mexico" pay for it by introducing new or increased levies on certain aspects that could subsidize payment for the wall. Or simple wall tax could be introduced [although likely not passed] that would increase the cost of visa for all Mexicans, as an example... There are multiple ways - unlikely to go ahead, but possible - all indirectly of course.

I like the premise of his idea but I just don't see how it all adds up. And what's more, all he's said is that "its an amazing plan". So I'm not really convinced that he can really do anything. And furthermore, America has depended on cheap, foreign labor since before we were even a country. After the ban of slavery is was Chinese and Irish immigrants, and after that, Mexicans. Illegals aren't protected by the US Constitution because they aren't citizens of the US. I think that that is a huge loophole that we can take advantage of, and furthermore, the illegals support too. They get a good job and life in America and we get cheap labor. I think we just have to get more Americans into skilled labor jobs rather than complain about the illegals taking our unskilled jobs. And eventually, machines will do all of our unskilled jobs for us, meaning that we can actually ban illegal immigration and it won't affect the economy.

Now that The Donald is President.......
how do you personally think this will work out?

Do you think that the final application of the new immigration laws will actually get rid of the seriously bad guys.... who are connected to organized crime..... but still generally allow genuine needed workers to be here....?

The problem with our food is at least in part caused by the fertilizer being used on farms. The best thing that can be done for our food is to feed our soil the way nature intended. This involves building organic matter and reducing commercial fertilizer. We need nutrient rich soil. NPK alone doesn't cut it. The very best fertilizer is free...and it comes from earthworms.
