Trump and his supporters here think Putin is a great leader. But the great leader has led his country into a recession that has lasted 18 months and now they are quickly running out of money. Putin's policies have resulted in the treasury being drained of reserve funds and thanks to sanctions borrowing is not going to be an option.

1. No, the sanctions are finally having an effect. We shouldn't end them, but Russia can end the sanctions by changing their behaviour which was the reason for the sanctions in the first place.
2. It takes two to tango. Russia isn't your friend, doesn't want to be, probably won't be for the foreseeable future, when are you going to realise that?
3. if Russia is so powerful, why are they on the verge of collapse?

Russia has become a pariah on the international stage and most of the world no longer cares what happen to it. Putin has created situations in his attempt to recreate the U.S.S.R. that have caused any compassion to wither away and left the people that might lend a hand using both to clap as it falls. Eventually it might not have the fuel to fly fighter aircraft to buzz ships as an impotent threat.

Russia needs to elect a black community organizer as President of Russia and establish a Federal Reserve Bank that can print up trillions of dollars to prop up the President of Russia's economy. That's what America did for almost eight years.

I'm not seeing how engaging in a hostile manner with Russia over Ukraine in anyway serves our core interests. Ukraine is of no strategic importance to the US but for Russia, the situation in Ukraine is very important to them. I think our sanctioning of Russia over Ukraine has hurt our ability to cooperate in areas where we need them such as Syria. Just my thoughts.
