Why is everything always about blacks? It's never about Europeans, Latinos or Asians, but always blacks. Compared to the first three I mentioned where do blacks stand on their contribution to the world? What have they done collectively? If we're all equal then where's the museum of my heritage - Italian, Irish, German and Armenian?

because we generally fear them they seem to do the most damage to our citys with riots like Rodney king la riot and are volatile and don't wait for results and investigations to be competed, so we the other groups you noted appease them more, like building this Museum, but what we are doing is making them more bratty and telling them that violence rebelliousness pays off.

Looks like you don't really understand what the term "always" means...

You can always go to the museum and find out. I know, I know... crazy thought.

Ok guys, you got me, they exist, but in all my years I never knew they did, why aren't they advertised with the same fanfare? And my original sentiment still stands, why the sudden push for everything black? You should see the commercials on tv where I live, blacks are featured in about 75% of them and are in about 90% of them and my city has roughly just 1200 blacks in it or 1% of the population. In fact, my city is largely Hispanic and I rarely see them in any commercials.

Todd, I'm sorry your time is valueless, I hope that changes some day.

Whenever I think about museums it reminds me the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte was looted yesterday. Makes me ashamed to be a North Carolinian.

    Cool.

So this is a target for vandalism and arson right?

Because if Blacks have taught us anything it's that vandalizing something like a 9-11 memorial or a Confederate soldiers grave is perfectly ok.

Why is it blacks have always been at the brunt of racism and discrimination.

Can you follow your Italian, Irish, German and Armenian heritage?

Black folks were living in palaces when you were in Europe living in caves.

Who do you think taught the Aristotle and Socrates?

Where did the early astrology originate from?

Who brought about Geometry and Calculus?

From some of Obama's speech at the African American Museum opening:

Obama spoke directly to the violence that has come to define relations between communities of color and police, saying he hoped some of the exhibits “can help a white visitor understand the pain and anger of demonstrators in places like Ferguson and Charlotte.”

“But it can also help black visitors appreciate the fact that not only is this younger generation carrying on traditions of the past, but within the white communities across the nation we see the sincerity of law enforcement officers and officials who, in fits and starts, are struggling to understand and are trying to do the right thing.”

Dead white men established this country. They did a damn good job. Anyone who criticizes them needs to move back to their God forsaken ancestral homeland. I'll help you pack.

Dead black men also helped establish this country and move it forward. You do know this is not your ancestral homeland, so what gives you the right to tell anyone where to move back to.

I would agree this is weird, will they have a white museum next? sorry, this just seems to be about race to me, and in a mall, just to weird

when it comes to government funding race stuff like this, I feel the same as them funding religion... all or none equally

Yes, blacks helped establish this country. Although their role was relatively small compared to whites.

This may surprise you, but I think the opening of the African American museum is a great event. Next time I'm in Washington, seeing it would be a priority for me.

About the dead white men (Founding Fathers) ... no one in their position could have done any better to set this country up for success. Criticizing them only makes one look foolish. And if someone is unhappy here, they're welcome to leave. We don't want or need any fundamental change.

Well the only reason this is done is because of the injustices that were done to black folks in the past. Every other nationality of folks in this country know where they came from and can still practice those ancestral practices, but not black folks because we were cut off and bastardized from our ancestral history.

For over 200yrs we were taught that we were less than a human being, for over 200yrs black folks were treated worse in this country than the family dog.
