We are lucky we have some Russians here. I admire them for learning English and using it to talk to us.

Did this take place in Russia?

The four-day exercise launched on Tuesday includes 200,000 rescue professionals. Almost 50,000 vehicles are part of the drill.

“Our priority during the drill is to train evacuation of the civilian population from potentially-risky areas,” Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov, who oversees all civil defense in Russia, told Interfax.

The drill is meant to test coordination between federal, regional and local authorities, feasibility of contingency plans for emergencies, the state of civil defense infrastructure like shelters and emergency supply stockpiles, and other aspects of the system. Emergency services are expected to “prepare suggestions on how to improve our potential,” the minister said.

Exercises such as these are held annually in Russia since 2012. It is timed to October 4, which is Civil Defense Day in Russia.

This is an annual drill for emergency workers and 200,000 rescue professionals participated in the four-day drill. It's not like 40 million people nationwide actually evacuated to Siberia as a part of the drill.

Yes it did. But I would say that in case of nuclear war it just gives a vague chance to survive. IMHO it was a message to american partners that it is all serious. The war is still not desired.

We have such drills all over the USA. For the same reasons.

It is really a lot better for the citizens to have trained help than not well organized help.

Thanks for the replies from Russia.

I also thank you for your comments.

We definitely are not for any war.

I am worried Hillary might get elected.

I don't see any big difference in terms of possible war between the two candidates. They make a good show. They hate each other. They are made to look opposite, but I don't see any difference in real positions that define the choice between war and peace.

There will be no war. The war mongering, Russian hating Hillary, has been rejected by Americans. Trump and Putin will forge an alliance beneficial to both countries. We will unite in Syria to crush ISIS. Both Putin and trump are against globalism and we will fight to defeat it. The Eagle and the bear, united, are undefeatable. Besides, we need your vodka.
