Americans Change the TV Channel as Networks Plunge

People are sick of the propaganda machine that inverts priorities just to sling mud at Trump. Ratings for CNN have dropped below the gardening channel!

However, what actually turns viewers off is how the writers of once popular shows are paining the story lines with propaganda.

Another sign they think the audience is stupid.

Seems to me that tv networks and printed newspapers have been withering for many years.... for reasons that have nothing to do with trump. Personally, i am no trump fan, and i seldom watch network product

 

So, why do you keep trying? Nobody is listening. We want to see corrupt crooks locked up. Tell us how that is going.

 

TV news audiences are generally center-right (liberals are usually watching the Kardashians). So if the networks are going to be unfair to the center-right candidate, it's not surprising ratings will drop.

Your links don't seem to support your argument.

According to your links, FOX news had the biggest viewership @ 2.3 Million viewers in primetime. That more people are now watching MSNBC than CNN doesn't seem to say that people are sick of the propaganda, but that they have shifted from one network to another with a more liberal slant. Combining CNN/ MSNBC totals and you're at almost the same viewership as FOX. All three together and you're at less than 5 million people… out of 310 million. I don't see how that makes your argument that people are sick of propaganda.

One of your links is about network shows, not newscasts. If fewer people are watching Dancing with the Stars and American Idol, that also doesn't mean they are sick of propaganda.

If people actually do turn off news programming because they dislike the content, then we will see a change in the content. That has been my position on the many threads here that indicate the media is corrupt and swaying the election for Clinton. The news media, like the other shows on their channels, have to get viewers to keep their advertisers. They are data driven and give the viewer what the viewer wants, or they know the viewer will change the channel. People that watch FOX like the way FOX reports the news. Apparently from your link, other people like the way MSNBC reports the news more than the way they like CNN. None of that says that people are sick of propaganda and are turning away from TV news.

Americans are now very hostile to the corrupt political establishment. They have sought out rebel sources - hence Fox. Now they are drifting away from Fox to newer more militant antiestablishment news sources.

LIke you said, you don't watch much CNN. If you did, you'd understand that CNN has Trump coverage - all day, every day. Sure, it's nothing but negative media about him, but they have their version of the Trump story on constantly.

You have it backwards. If cable news ratings are suffering and that is a big if. It is most attributive to people turning off the news because they are sick of the ridiculous, hate filled nonsense that Trump is saying. He has become unhinged. His speeches mish mash of hatred, ridiculous conspiracy theories, lies, baseless accusations and name calling. Normal people are sick of it and sick of him. They are tuning him out. His campaign (whatever is left of it) is done. Now it is just excuse making and accusations.

I don't know where you think you are getting your ratings numbers from but if you believe that CNN and MSNBC are losing significantly to Fox then someone is lying to you. In the key 25-52 demographic Fox, MSNBC and CNN are all about tied. If you include all demographics Fox does lead but not by a significant margin and several MSNBC shows (mainly Maddow) outperform Fox on routine basis.

Crap sells. Just look at the ratings for reality shows and the pop charts and movie ratings.

And FOX viewers seem to like Clinton. She's +7 in their last poll.
