Brilliant piece of western-made propaganda bull-crap.

The authors picked up different unlinked facts to create the feeling that Russia is going to attack Finland - maybe tomorrow, maybe a bit later.

"Moscow propaganda questioning the legality of its 1917 independence from Russia" says the heading. But the article doesn't provide any cases of such "propaganda". Instead they refer to the words of former Putin's economist adviser Andrey Illarionov. Illarionov worked for government in 90s, since 2000 till 2005 he worked for Presidential Administration in the rank of adviser. Today Andrey Illarionov is a well known Putin's hater. One may say he's one of the most furious critics, haters, accucers of Putin etc.

So, who is "questioning the legality of its 1917 independence from Russia"? The heading of the article says "Moscow propaganda" does, but no examples of such "questioning", but only Illarionov's statements which probably were taken from his interviews for western media in which he, certainly, blames Putin for everything.

To confirm their point, the authors of the article write: "Reports earlier this year in Russia claimed Lenin's Bolshevik administration had no right to accept Finland's independence". Which reports? Whose reports?

Why they're talking about "Moscow propaganda", some "reports in Russia" but all what we can see is Andrey Illarionov who hates Putin and blames him at any opportunity - especially in western media?

Then the authors turn to the Mannerheim plaque in S.Petersburg which was put up on the side of one of universities. The installation of the plaque caused big outrage in the city. It suffered of several attacks and finally was removed.

Reading the artcile you, certainly, realize that these protests show how much Russians hate independent Finland. But the real reason why many people considered the plaque inappropriate and unacceptable to be put in S.Petersburg is the Siege of Leningrad in 1941-1944. Hundreds of thousands people died of hunger as German troops besieged the city from the south and Mannerheim's Finnish troops - from the north. So, despite the historical role of Carl Mannerheim for Finland, he isn't a positive hero for Petersburg.

It's amusing but the initiative to put this unlucky plaque in Petersburg belongs to Sergey Ivanov - one of the Putin's closest friends - and to the current federal minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky. So, when the Dailymail tries to convince you that Russian "officials", Russian "propaganda" is "questioning" the Finlands independence for real it's completely different.

Anyway, as a proof of anti-Finnish propaganda they refer to several reports in Russian media about Russian families in Finland and Norway.
    Sputnik informs:
This is a long story which started several years ago and some Russian TV channels and newspapers are following it.
    For example:
As Russia and Finland are neighbours there is quite a lot of cross-national marriages. The practice of Finland authorities when kids are taken away from parents who are neither criminals, nor alcohol or drug abusers, nor some sort of scums is pretty unusual, so scandals and rows happen repeatedly, and it's well highlighted in Russian media. But what it has to do with NATO, EU or Finland's independence?

When the Finnish official says it's a "systematic" campaign he is right. Of course, it's systematic, the same as 74 cases when kids were taken away from their parents is also looks systematic. I'm not going to teach Finns how they have to protect kids in their country, but accusing journalists being directed from some "centre" and calling it a "lying campaign" - just because they don't like what they are writing and showing - resembles a sort of paranoia.

In general, this is a good example how you can pick up different unlinked cases and facts, mix it in the favourable way, put sentences and statements together to create the impression you need, and finally to create severe propaganda piece.

Nato wants to arm Finland so Washington can use them as cannon fodder in a war with Russia. How stupid of the Finns. They lived in peace for so many years by remaining neutral, and now they're going to fall for Western propaganda. I guess they forgot that the Russian majority in Crimea voted to unite with Russia to escape the American installed Nazi regime in Kiev ...but then again maybe they didn't forget, they were just never told.

I can just imagine how the Russians must feel knowing that they will be aiming their missiles and killing people who they have nothing against, when the ones they should be aiming at are in Washington DC. :steamed:

So let's see there must be a minority of Russians in Finland somewhere that are in need of "protection" from the evil Finn's..these dumb Russians are clearly delusional!

No. 70,000 Russians in Finland. The Ukraine was as much a war of aggression from NATO as anything else.

If the red guard generation still flourish then there is a big possibility that an attempt will be made if Finland will push through with NATO membership. They could do a lot along that 1,271 km stretch, unlike Ukraine it will be the North against the South.
But I don't know if Finland will invoke the Paasikivi-Kekkonen doctrine being a pacifist nation a good scapegoat not to join NATO.

I hope so. I hate Finland and Sweeden and Norway and all those Northern European people. I would like to see them suffer like the Ukrainians.

What is Finland going to do about it? You only exist because the powerful western nations support you - plus you Finnish are Nazi supporters. I have no idea why we support you anyway or allow you to be a developed nation. We should make you like Ukraine and take all of your women. As our whores. And we could. What could you Finnish do about it? Nothing. Why are Nazi supporters crying about a so-called 'illegal war' anyway?

This is utter bullcrap. Typical propaganda, most likely as a mean to try provoking Finland into joining the North Atlantic Terrorist Organisation. They've been trying the same propaganda rhetorics here in Sweden too; "Russian submarines in Swedish water!"(apparently Russia has invisible ones) and "Russian planes in Swedish airspace" (duuuh you signed the contract to let NATO use our airspace so of course Russia will be scared).

    Why would Russia want Finland?

Nato has to be demolished NOW.

Probably my favourite poster. I love the combination of utter ignorance, and rapey power fantasies. Maybe this is a hint: could it be that wjv is actually a virgin in his 30's living with his parents? Who knows.

We have enough unaware propagandized intellects in America to swallow it, hook, line and sinker. These are not critical thinkers and get their news from MSM, and not even aware that when one of our national security acts made it legal by trashing a 1947 law that made it illegal to use the propaganda on our people that was being used by propaganda media oversees during the cold war, that his made it legal to use propaganda on americans domestically. Most people are not even aware that it was illegal to use propaganda on our own people until recently. Obama signed it to make it now legal. When you can brainwash your own people, who believe what they are told, well, we know where that leads.

with Finland can not rush. Moreover, many Finns are in favor of joining Russia voluntarily.
I think that first we must return to Alaska, California and New York. I think it's obvious

As is par for the course, you state BS propaganda and provide absolutely nothing in the way of data to back it up. This pathetic campaign by your government is completely failing outside Russia and you folks are not bright enough to know it.....or perhaps you just need the Rubles.

If the majority of people in an area want to be with Russia, then the land is not captured but freed, unless of course you don't believe in democracy. .. (which it's obvious that you don't) As for Ukraine, it's only a matter of time before people regain their senses and realize they have been duped, people can suffer for only so long.

If they don't, then there's this by the TV host Solovyov:

"...We’ll raise our eyebrows and Ukraine will understand everything. There is no need for illusions. When they in all seriousness say that ‘sanctions stopped’ the Russian army, well sanctions haven’t stopped sh*t in Syria.

If you don’t understand, that Putin has said from day one: ‘We respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We are not planning to send in troops. We do not want a fratricidal war. But we support the DPR and LPR.’

Because, like Zakharchenko said on my show, ‘we will take Kiev.’ And then Ukraine will be de-Nazified the harsh Donbass way. If this is the only way to save Ukraine, then so be it.

We don’t believe you Ukrainians, we’ve lost respect for you. As Lavrov said, ‘Russia’s strategic patience has finished.’ Do you want to see the face of the bear? You’ll find out that the bear doesn’t have just a face, but a terrifying snout. If you think that someone can stop Russia, then you better learn the history that you are trying to forget.

Dream on, while the American corporations buy up Ukraine for pennies, and the people go hungry. Poroshenko's reward for selling his country? His income increased three fold this year.
