President Duterte has chosen a new master no longer a "lap dog of the USA" but now a poppy pet of China.
Over and over again Duterte has shown no respect for US officials while kowtowing in fear to Chinese leaders.
No doubt it is very clear Duterte is severing all ties economic, social, historical, political, military and diplomatic ties with the USA and has embraced China as his new master.
So the question is, do majority of Filipinos that voted Duterte into power do they support his shift from USA to China?

Who cares if they do ?

If they wish to become slaves of China, it is their own look out.

If they can't be concerned enough to protect their Liberty & Freedom, it is of no concern to the U.S.,

Canada of course is Free to do as it wishes.

For millions of Filipinos it matters especially the thousands of overseas Filipinos and the fact China's success was due to USA.
I bet majority of those Filipinos who voted for Duterte are now having second thoughts, they didn't see this coming.

The Philippines for decades enjoy special immigration status compare to other Asian or South East Asian countries and Duterte's separation or cutting off social, economic, political, historical, military and philosophical ties with the USA would mean the USA cutting off immigration "quota" and award to maybe China would and could be disastrous this mean the Philippine-Duterte would become reliant to China a satellite or vassal state of China.
    Origin
Country of birth, Population (2013) and Immigrants (1986-2012)
    Mexico 11,584,977 5,551,757
    China 2,383,831 1,399,667
    India 2,034,677 1,323,011
    Philippines 1,843,989 1,480,946

Philippines is the fourth largest immigration to the USA! Under Duterte it will become at the bottom.

By US officials meaning the US government not just Obama also Trump. In fact Trump if by wild chance is elected he will respond with the *f" word to Duterte and sign an alliance with China sharing with China what they can of the South China Sea and any parts of the Philippines. Trump would prefer to deal directly with the big boys China.

Duterte rant about not receiving enough US money or investment in fact the Philippines received more aid than any other South East Asian nation.

    http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2...s-still-largest-recipient-us-aid-asia-pacific
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines remains the largest recipient of US military assistance in the Asia-Pacific region with $66 million in foreign funding in 2015.

Outgoing US Ambassador Philip Goldberg explained that other countries receive larger US assistance because these are “conflict” areas.

“Let’s remember that the Philippines is our largest recipient of military assistance in this region,” Goldberg said in an interview on ANC’s Headstart.

Last year alone, he said the Philippines received $66 million in foreign military funding that helped purchase defense equipment.

He noted that the US also provided $42 million to the Philippines out of $60 million total in the US maritime security initiative.

China made Ak-47 are way cheaper, China made military uniforms are way cheaper...in fact even Trump have his campaign Made America Great Again red hats made in China.
While Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore are increasing and improving their relationship with the USA, Duterte is moving the Philippines the other way.

Strangely, thousands of Filipinos who supported Duterte are now silent with his separation policy with the USA and surrendering to China?

There is no problem if Duterte wants a closer relationship with China in fact majority of Philippine businesses the mega millionaires and billionaires their success is attributed with their strong economic and trade ties with China on the other hand majority of working class Filipinos their success in work and income including Manny Pacquiao their success is in employment and immigration to the USA. The problem is how Duterte is using the USA with great disrespect and total lack of civility and consideration of the millions of Filipinos that are going to be affected with his anti USA policy. Not only his anti disrespectful attitude towards the USA but towards Australia, and the West in general. It will be just a matter of time before the USA reciprocate in kind by cutting immigration quota, shifting alliance to Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. Duterte is forgetting that China's success is reliant to the USA and the West.
