Today is the thirty-year anniversary of President Reagan signing the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Reagan gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants. It made any immigrant who had entered the country before 1982 eligible for amnesty. Since then its helped millions more than the original 3 million gain American residency. As usual, leave it to a liberal to post just spin and leave out FACTS. The Reagan amnesty bill had THREE parts to it... 1...Amnesty. 2...Border SECURITY. 3...Employer ENFORCEMENT. The Congress passed A bill and Reagan signed it. Shortly thereafter, amnesty as granted and given to just about ALL that applied. And the process was well funded. But, when congress re-convened, they took away the funding for BORDER SECURITY AND EMOLOYER ENFORCEMENT COMPLETELY! That led to the next wave of illegal criminal illegal aliens flooding our border like the parasites that they have become to be. You can thank a LIBERAL for that, NOT Reagan. Clear now?

Key word on "Control". The compromise agreement required that we had border security, and Democrats did not live up to their end of the bargain. If I were alive at the time? I would have applauded the compromise measure that legalized those here, while strengthening the borders. And if I knew now what I knew then, I'd be appalled at Democrats for ruining the compromise agreement. It's exactly why we will not come to any agreements until the Left fulfills its obligations in this manner.
Reagan believed the Democrats to be honorable and would keep their promises of "crack down on employers who hired illegal workers and secure the border once and for all". We learned that the Democrats lie and can't be trusted to keep their promises. Trump supporters remember what happened in 1986 and simply won't make that mistake again. If the Democrats are serious about immigration reform they must secure the border and eject all criminal aliens FIRST! or you're wasting time asking.
