Up until now, only commissioned officers (certified pilots) have flown drones. A lot of those are leaving the service and the USAF has had troubles finding officers to replace them. It appears four are already in training with 20 recently commissioned officers. It should be noted that many of nations have enlisted personnel as pilots.
