Not Cuba. Try Costa Rica. One recent report say it's the happiest country in the Americas if not the world. You might love the love rain forests and free healthcare and best of all: NO MILITARY!

Awesome. I couldn't begin to tell you how miserable all of our military makes me on a daily basis. They really spoil every outing for me, can't get a moment's peace.

No conscription meaning no muddy obstacle courses. No imperialist interventions. No threat of a coup against the democracy.

    Yes it sounds lovely

"More than 1.1 million Costa Ricans live in poverty, according to the latest household survey from the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC), released Thursday.

Extreme poverty reached its highest recorded rate in the last six years, according to the annual report on poverty in Costa Rica.

The 2015 Household Survey reported an overall poverty rate of 21.7 percent, slightly lower than the 22.4 percent reported in 2014. Meanwhile, extreme poverty continues to rise — from 5.8 percent of the population in 2010 to 7.2 percent in 2015."

The USA 50 million live in poverty, and 100 million are in an illegal drug induced coma..so what's your point?

Costa Rica coasts under a US defense agreement. They don't need a military, they have the US military.

So I'd say "imperialist interventions" is not correct. It looks like Costa Rica is playing the imperialism game just fine.

But it's all relative and incremental, right? Here in the U.S.about 1/3 of the population is poor and 1 in 6 families go without a meal once a week. But that's ok, especially if it's not you and me in poverty. At least we can just call them lazy bums.

Poverty in America is middle class in most of the world and upper class in many parts of it.
