With all the talk of Mitt Romney for Secretary Of State?

I say no. I understand the idea of unifying Republicans, but Romney was the ultimate betrayer literally trying to stab the Republican candidate - and accordingly government - in the back after Republicans had backed him. He also reminds of of Kerry - a zippy pinhead politician who can't get anything done and mostly concerned about how he looks. What do you say?

Drain the swamp......except for folks who have spent multiple decades in elected office or have extensive politcal and lobbying careers!

Honestly, aside form his obscure religious convictions, Mitt seems like a decent enough fellow, and fairly intelligent. Not sure why he would want to sully his name by working with Trump.

He can't do anything close to as bad as Hillary. Romney would really improve our relationship with Russia as opposed to going to war with them.

I don't question his ability. I think he would be tremendously well suited for the job.

I question if he is motivated to work for someone for whom whom he clearly has no respect who seems disinterested in learning anything about the world, and whose main form of communication is derogatory comments over social media.

    I see.

I read a prophecy about Mr. Mitt Romney having some sort of "Darius"
    destiny on his life.......

If the theory of President Donald TRump having a "Cyrus" calling / gifting / mantle on
    his life is true......

then he and Mitt Romney should be able to work together really well.

Because Mr. Mitt Romney was such a vocal opponent to The Donald during the campaign....
he will have a special ability to turn other opponents of President Trump into allies.......

Romney would be tactful and articulate. The question is, would he be tough enough, and would he support Trump's agenda?

Remember, Trump plans on a reset on our trade relationships. Would Romney forcefully stand with him?

    Truly well said!

Both President Trump as well as Secretary of State Romney would do their best to make sure
that America doesn't take in hundreds of thousands of refugees who believe firmly in genocide......

Trump already has a list of other potential candidates for the post of top U.S. diplomat, including Rudy Giuliani, John Bolton, Bob Corker of Tennessee, and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. Trump's personal philosophy is to reward his friends who stayed loyal to him and punish his enemies who spoke ill of him publicly. I don't think Romney will be picked as the Secretary of State in the end. I bet it will be either Rudy Giuliani or John Bolton.

Very good choice. But what bothers me is your emphasis on what is good for the Republican Party rather than what could be good fir our country , the USA. I find it very sad that it's the Republican side that usually is way more concerned for the party rather than the country, our country.

How about we put our country first fir a change guys? Think you can do that once in a while?

Regarding Romney as Sec of State I think that he could be ok to maybe good. He can join a parade of other failed POUTUS candidates and be Sec of State instead of the real thing... Clinton and Kerry can explain the ropes to him.

He is more on the commercial business side I guess,
and it is all about bringing home the bacon, I don't know how he would deal with geopolitics in attaining such.

Exactly. Would Romney stand with Trump? I'm sorry, but I just don't see it...

I too am still hopeful that Giuliani is picked. I was hoping that he'd take the AG slot, but I guess that's too problematic. I believe the only other possible position he'd be interested in holding would be SoS. Trump would be well served by America's Mayor.

I don't completely like Mitt Romney, but he's a very fair deal closer to my political views than Trump is (which admittedly isn't saying much, since it's exceedingly difficult to find one thing me and Trump agree on), and he's certainly better than the miscellaneous wackos that are otherwise up for the position.

Normally I'd say, "No way, Jose" but he would be a much better pick than anyone else on that list, except Ms. Haley. At least she knows the traitor rebel flag is a racist symbol.

Mitt would be a very good choice for Commerce or Treasury, but I'm not sure about State. Mitt's very intelligent, and quite well experienced, but, we may have better options for international responsibilities. Remember, this isn't just an ad hoc role. Whoever the Secretary of State is going to be, that person will have to clean up a truly gigantic pile of mismanaged (*)(*)(*)(*) left behind by both Hilarity Clinton, and John Kerry.

Our foreign policy is a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing disaster, from North Africa, through Syria and Iraq, and Afghanistan. Putin and Xi Jinping OWN nearly the entire Eastern Hemisphere, and Iran is probably already well on track to have nuclear weapons deliverable by ballistic missiles well within ten years. No picnic for anybody taking over State in 2017 -- after everything is so thoroughly (*)(*)(*)(*)ed-up... from the 'Three Stooges' -- Obama, Kerry, and Hillary....

[IMG]. "Why didn't WE think of giving Iran a green light for nukes?! It's PURE GENIUS...!"

"Russia is without question our No. 1 geopolitical foe. They fight for every cause for the world's worst actors.

in terms of a geopolitical foe, a nation that's on the Security Council that has the heft of the Security Council, and is of course is a massive nuclear power, Russia is the geopolitical foe.

Russia has continued to arm the regime of Syria's vicious dictator and blocked multilateral efforts to stop the ongoing carnage there. Across the board, Russia has been a thorn in our side on questions vital to America's national security.

Russia is a country where the desire to be free is met with brutal oppression.

I have clear eyes on this. I'm not going to wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to Russia, or Mr. Putin.
    " - Mitt Romney

yeah, I think Romney would be an excellent pick. The primary reason is that it all you putin lovers would have your dreams crushed.

Romney is a Gazi (global socialist). He will only work to undermine everything Trump wants.
