Well, there is at least one group that seems to be unifying and supporting Trump, white nationalists.

Indeed, a conference in Washington DC attracted a group of them, replete with props and schwag from the Trump campaign, featuring speakers from all over the alt right/white nationalist scene, reveling in the Trump victory.

Whilst I don't personally think trump is any more or less racist than any other self proclaimed billionaire, I do think that his populist campaign and his employing of others, such as Bannon, who openly promote shared views with this folks is leading to a resurgence of anti black, anti Jewish thought in this country.

I think most folks here and across the coutnry will agree that racism is bad in any form, so why are these folks becoming more and more prominent? Are we more accepting of the hatred they promote, or is this a natural reaction to what was once the racial majority becoming less powerful in their numbers?

Loyalists of the self-described white nationalist, alt-right movement from around the country gathered in D.C., Saturday afternoon, enthused by the election of Donald Trump and optimistic that their controversial, offensive views such as calling for a white, Ethno-centric state were on the rise throughout the country.

"The alt-right is here, the alt-right is not going anywhere, the alt-right is going to change the world," Richard Spencer, head of the white nationalist think tank the National Policy Institute (NPI) promised at a press conference.

About 300 people — split nearly evenly between conference attendees and protesters of the conference outside — were on hand at the downtown D.C. event.

Spencer told journalists that he doesn't believe Trump himself is alt-right, the term he coined that's come to embody white supremacist, anti-Semitic and sexist ideas. But it was clear that his surprise election has given the once fringe movement a jolt, and on Saturday they were eager to take a victory lap. Spencer called Trump's campaign "the first step towards identity politics in the United States."

Scenes from the press conferenced held by the National Policy Institute at the Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. The tag line for this year's event was "Become Who You Are".

Spencer also restricted journalists from taking photos of the crowd inside the building to prevent the identification of attendees without their permission.

Before Trump, Spencer said, the alt-right was like a "head without a body," but then Trump came along and his campaign became "kind of a body without a head." He described the alt-right as having a "psychic connection" with Trump in way they don't have with other Republicans, and expressed hope that, "moving forward, the alt-right can, as an intellectual vanguard, complete Trump."

One of their chief policy proposals they hope to push through is a 50-year immigration freeze, with a preference given to European immigrants coming into the U.S. Spencer told NPR's Kelly McEvers in an interview Thursday that their ultimate goal was "a safe space effectively for Europeans," arguing for a return to the white origins of the country and protecting the white race.

Spencer on Trump's picks for cabinet, senior strategist

The alt-right movement has gained attention and support throughout Trump's election and particularly through his appointment of Steve Bannon, the former head of alt-right friendly Breitbart News, to be a senior strategist in the West Wing.

Spencer, however, argued that Bannon wasn't fully representative of the alt-right movement either, but that it's "very hopeful for me that Bannon is at least open to these things."

Speakers taking questions from the press included alt-right supporters (left to right) Peter Brimelow, Kevin MacDonald, Jason Jorjani, and Jared Taylor.
    Ariel Zambelich/NPR

Bannon told the Hollywood Reporter on Friday, "I'm not a white nationalist, I'm a nationalist. I'm an economic nationalist."

Spencer was highly complimentary of Trump's first cabinet picks, particularly choosing Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions to be Attorney General. Sessions is well-known for his hard-line immigration stances, and has had his own past controversy over race when he was voted down to be a federal judge in 1986 over remarks he'd made about the NAACP and allegedly called a white civil rights lawyer "a disgrace to his race."

He said that while Sessions was not alt-right necessarily, his views on immigration — and a belief that he may not fully enforce some civil rights protections — were encouraging to Spenc

I would need to see the facts in order to dispute.

Obama started war on white race by pitting black people against white people, American people had to stop it, so they elected a Trump as a president.

Didn't white nationalists already "change the world" by conquering and colonizing most of it?

300 people? Did they loot, riot, and burn down the city? If peaceful assembly is the worst crime they committed I'll take them over racist hate groups like BLM any day...

By inserting himself into racially charged issues without knowing all the facts only to be embarrassed later.

I disagree, he should have inserted himself into them. Which ones didn't he know the facts on?

He was correct on Cambridge, definitely was correct on Zimmerman, the jury is still out on Ferguson and what did he say about Baltimore?

He always publicly took side of black people, without going into details. He also never condemned Black Live Matter movement (racist organization).
Many people were simply scared of the race war, so they have elected Trump.

The facts are presented daily every time Trump opens his mouth or wakes up a 3AM to blast out another tweet

Likewise. The fact that a grown man got away with killing an unarmed teenager doesn't change.

Whether he was correct or not, he could not take a side, and declare his position in such sensitive matter. He is a president of USA not president of Black people of America.

Why do righties keep posting pictures of Trump with black people as if this shows he's not a racist old white man?

    Trump loves Cliven Bundy.

He took the side of those who were being treated unjust, oh your right they were black folks.

There was no need to condemn BLMs, just the actions of some members.

Funny how the only folks who ever spoke of a Race War were racists and conservatives.

    - - - Updated - - -

That is why black folks went for hundreds of years being treated unjust in this country, because the so-called leaders stood idly by and said nothing.

So 150 supporters showed up for this "event".

    150.

Granted, those 150 people may be concerned about immigration because of racial bigotry. But, for Trump and the vast majority of his supporters, immigration is a matter of economics, security, and the rule of law. The thoughts and motivations of some tiny, obscure fringe group have nothing to do with the majority.

Your opinion ignores the evidence of the case. Replacing your own racism against Zimmerman instead of the facts we know and what the jury saw in the courtroom.

And Obama already apologized for his idiotic comment about the police before the beer summit. (ask me for the link) So you are already 0-2

The same for Michael Brown when he claimed his death stains the hearts of black children. Ignoring the reality Brown was a thief and was assaulting a police officer. Both well documented.

Once again just like yourself Obama inserted his own racism in replacement of the facts.

You really should research these things before you embarrass yourself.

It's part of Trump's ultimate design. He wants to manufacture enemies so he can use opposition to them as a means to seize more power. It's the same method that was used by both Hitler and Stalin in the 1930's and early 40's and to a lesser extent by Mussolini in Italy and Francisco Franco in Spain. It's the basic playbook of Totalitarianism/Authoritarianism in the 20th century.

Trump is unique in America in being the first Fascist to become President. We have had Fascists before but none have even become the candidate of a major party let alone winning the Presidency
