http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/30/us/texas-burial-aborted-fetuses.html?_r=0 HYPERLINK has full story snip Texas approved new rules this week requiring health care facilities that perform abortions to bury the fetal remains instead of disposing of them in a sanitary landfill like other forms of biological medical waste, ending months of contentious debate and dismaying abortion rights groups. The rules, which go into effect on Dec. 19, mandate that aborted fetal tissue must be buried regardless of how long it has been gestating. The rules state it can either be buried directly after an abortion has been performed or it can be buried or scattered after it has been incinerated. Fetal remains can also be steam disinfected before burial, according to the guideline....................... end snip I congratulate Texas for instituting a policy that puts some dignity back to the killed babies. It's good that the choice is burial or creamtion as not everyone likes to bury bodies. This gives an opportunity for the pro-death crowd to be able to mourn for the child from whom they ripped the life. Kudos to Texas for recognizing the child who has been killed.
I think that (The OP) is a wonderful idea. Just think of the boost to the Texas economy. Companies will now prosper by manufacturing thimble sized coffins and urns to house the remains. Crematoriums will prosper by charging the same money for incinerating a thumb sized speck as they charge for incinerating a full grown person. Cemeteries will make a fortune by setting up special areas that can house huge amounts of thimble sized coffins. About 30% of pregnancies are spontaneously aborted, often without the knowledge of the mother. Companies must now develop testing devices that a woman can dip into her urine every time she pees. If the test determines the presence of a spontaneously aborted fetus, the woman must collect the pee from the toilet and have it buried. It would probably be more efficient to replace all toilets in Texas with toilets that have this testing device built in. An alarm would sound alerting the woman of the spontaneously aborted fetus. It should also have a device built in that would instantly notify the authorities to ensure the woman follows the new laws.
Of course not and we'll make some Bigger Government laws to prevent it since Bigger Government made this ridiculous law so more Bigger Government laws are needed to regulate this Bigger Government Unnecessary law that costs taxpayers more money......
You mean out of the BILLIONS and BILLIONS of people born it's all on the shoulders of the poorest to give the world smart people......maybe the Syrians would 've produced a great mind but they are being slaughtered right now, real actual live BORN people... Oh, and you comment about "in the last decades"....did you really think abortion has only been around since Rvw? OMG, really??? You got a lot of learning to do about the world..
They don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about people. They care about their 2,000 year old book of lies, deceptions, nonsense and control schemes. They care about legislating faith, and convincing unwise atheists to follow suit by making illogical arguments about personhood and other such sordid nonsense. They only care until it's born. Then, no social services, no help, until it is 18, can carry a gun, and kill people in the name of the US of A. And then, when it gets its arms or legs blown off, comes home a psychological mess, they discard it like garbage, ignoring it, marginalizing it, blaming it. That's the reality of the pro life movement. A demagoguery of charlatans, peddling snake oil to the pedagogues that would care to listen.
Lol, so you think all aborted fetuses would have grown up to be a bunch of military amputees?? What brought you to that conclusion? Quite possibly the dumbest statement I've heard all day. The truth is no one knows what they may have accomplished, and because they are murdered before they even get a chance to do anything, we will never know. I find it sickening that people justify just killing babies because they might have a hard childhood or they think nobody wants them. Adversity breeds greatness.
I hate to break it to you, but I don't care what they may have accomplished. That's not the point, and not the point of this bill. This bill is abusive, debt creating nonsense, and is an obtuse intrusion of the government into the personal lives of citizens. If I'm a Buddhist, is the state going to let me discard the fetus in a different way, because the law doesn't say I have to give them a sky burial, and that in and of itself is religious discrimination, forcing me to bury my dead in a way the state and its generally Christian constituency want me to do it? What a joke; my assertion about soldiers is in regard to the level of care the average anti choicer gives to everyone but unborn fetuses and active duty soldiers. It's hypocritical, and this bill is religiously discriminatory, and should be tossed out, along with the bible and the offspring that promote it, into the dust bin of history. I am sick and (*)(*)(*)(*)ing tired of having to defend my rights from religious demagoguery across this idiotic country.
Abortion is an "elective" surgery. Either their private insurance will cover it or they must pay for themselves.
then that should apply to any flesh, get an arm, breast, testicle removed, have to bury it, those are human cells what about miscarriages, they are also abortions? .
I love all the anger. If it was a law requiring the burial of pets, it would never have made the headlines.........
When I posted """Of course not and we'll make some Bigger Government laws to prevent it since Bigger Government made this ridiculous law so more Bigger Government laws are needed to regulate this Bigger Government Unnecessary law that costs taxpayers more money"" ...I wasn't referring to abortion but some idiots idea that aborted fetuses should, by law (Bigger Government), have a burial...
This makes sense. A pro-life state wanting to respect the remains instead of discarding it like common refuse.
Worth noting that the OP omitted to quote the part of the FULL story where similar laws have been legally challenged and cannot be put into effect until such challenges are dealt with by the courts. Furthermore this is a thinly veiled subterfuge to convey "personhood" onto a fetus. No, the courts won't buy it because it opens the door to the slippery slope of violating the 1st amendment prohibition on legislating a state religion.
Sorta, except they explicitly put in exceptions for miscarriages. It will be easy pickings to throw this out when challenged in court, just like the courts threw out the last two attempts to single out abortion facilities.
Correct. It should fall to all people who pay premiums to health care coverages. Paid by the insurance industry.
it's burying or creamting the remains of a dead human. Do you think the law permits people to simply bring your body to the local landfill once you die?
More idiotic right wing nonsense, this time from the governor of Texas. He had a couple of court cases go against him so he come up with this idiocy. This will likely be contested in court, as is happening in two other 19th century locales, Indiana and Louisiana. This is government intrusion into women's health care on a ridiculous scale.............
Making the left lose their minds....lol. 1st Amendment prohibition of church and state? lmao Intrusion into women's health? By burying something that would otherwise be sent to an incinerator or sold? lol lol lol Too many silly, knee jerk, fake outrage posts to list.... The law is to insure that the parts are not sold or used in medical research. I say outlaw abortion and you don't have to worry about burying the by product.....
