I watched a Youtube video that said Jill Steins election recount campaign was a scam. Not taking Youtube at face value I did a little more digging and it may be true. Checking out her web page for the recount, there is a FAQ section, and one of the questions was "How will you use surplus funds?" And the answer; "If we raise more than what's needed, the surplus will also go toward election integrity efforts and to promote voting system reform." But backtracking to another question on the same FAQ, "How are donations used?" And the answer is contradictory; "The money raised for Recount 2016 can only be used for recount purposes. That money sits inside of a separate account created just for the recount initiative. It cannot mingle with the Stein/Baraka campaign's general funds, per the Federal Election Commission's rules. Because the state of Wisconsin increased the amount needed to file for a recount, it is unlikely money will be left over after all recounts." So on one hand she says that the money CAN ONLY be used for recount purposes and on the other hand says any surplus will be going to promote (fund) voting system reform, what ever that means. http://www.jill2016.com/recountfaq What say you, is this a scam?
A candidate that came in fourth in almost every election protesting the count is pretty much a scam. I don't know how she could have standing since no count would benefit her.
She made more off the recount than her entire presidential campaign. Here's why a Green Party leader has to say: As a national party our commitment is not only to run at the national level, but more importantly, to build at the local level and build political careers, and so that's where these dollars and these excess dollars will go in the future for next year. Question: Did I hear you correctly? Excess funds will be used for candidate recruitment? Martin: Yes. Not for for candidate recruitment, for candidate schools even before this, the commitment was to help fund schools around the country. http://m.dailykos.com/story/2016/11...Will-Go-To-Party-Building-Not-Election-Reform
I read an article that said Jill Stein made a name for herself but lost the Green party. That is why I think she will run as a Democrat next election as the next Bernie Sanders.
Not sure if it's a scam or not, but it is, IMHO, a frivolous argument. My hopes are that a recount would end up with Trump winning bigger. That would totally blow the dems out of the water.
or she could be horrified by the fact that the country has gone insane and she wants to do anything possible to salvage the situation. I know that's how I feel. If there is any chance that Hillary really won those very close key States, then count away!!! Either way I don't care. The votes are within less than 1%. A recount is the least we can do to try to save the country from this nut.
Yeah, I will enjoy watching Hillary lose again. Hillary is horrified by the fact that she will miss her coronation.
Personally, I think that it is. I am of the thinking that ti is another bout of "sour grapes" from Democrats and others.
By trying to steal the election the old fashion way......get your hands on the ballots. Oh and the Wisconsin recount is over. Trump increased his lead.
Recounts are only allowed if they are done under the terms of state law. That is why the SCOTUS threw out the FL recount in 2000, because new standards were being invented for the recount on the fly, not under existing state law. Interesting, that Trump gained votes on the only recount that was performed.
The country has been insane for a while. Rational thinking is starting to reassert itself. The recounts are just to line Jill Stein's pockets.
yuk yuk maybe her and Elizabeth Warren will rise up to save the country. We could all live in the new commune known as LaLa land, hug trees and whistle all day
It's not as much about a recount as it is a count. Millions of illegally purged voters along with those voters who couldn't vote because of a lack of polling stations, left millions out of the voting booth. Those voters have not yet cast their votes due to voter suppression.
She asked for a recount in one state in 2012 as well. I don't care why she wants one. That is between her and the Green Party. I don't care why democratic donors wanted one enough to pay for it either. It should also serve a public interest goal of determining how accurate and valid the voting system in a specific state was tabulated. Its never a bad thing to doublecheck your math problems, before turning in your homework assignment
Surely then you would agree that the recount is urgent in Detroit area where somehow democrats came up with extra votes in 37% of Detroit precincts. You know, the ones in which Hillary overwhelmingly won. Don't you find it strange? Records: Too many votes in 37% of Detroits precincts http://www.detroitnews.com/story/ne...cords-many-votes-detroits-precincts/95363314/
Absolutely. Do the audit. do the recount. find out where the errors or fraud is, so that the systems can be calibrated to reduce both. If I were from Michigan, I'd demand it.
