What would you have for your ideal last meal if you could have anything you wanted? I think, in order to be truly satisfied, I might have to cook my own last meal.
Interesting... I am not really sure, but I do know I would not like to cook it myself; I'm a terrible cook and would prefer my last meal to be tasty. Probably would choose something with pasta...Or perhaps fish...
If I were going to the electric chair, I would have 3 pounds of unpopped popcorn, and a small glass of olive oil.
Marinated deer backstraps, chuckar breast in mushroom sauce, corn on the cob, tossed salad, a nice pale ale and a glass of white wine. And maybe a scoop of coffee almond fudge ice cream.
Blue rare, bacon wrapped, 28 day aged Ribeye, perfectly Sous Vide cooked and served au poivre. Cauliflower freshly harvested from the garden in a Cheese/Bechumel Sauce. My own Cherry Pie, served with our pecan aged Blueberry wine and Islay Single Malt Scotch to accompany the beef.
I get most of my nutrients through smoothies. But if I had to have stuff to eat I'd have a fruit salad with the milkshake.
Type 1 diabetic here. I pretty much survive on an extremely low carb diet. Pasta, bread, rice, etc. are pretty much off the menu. I eat a lot of high protein, low or zero carb foods. Needless to say we eat a lot of steak, pork and chicken along with low glycemic index vegetables.
That's exactly my diet. Not diabetic but I have ulcerative colitis and an ileostomy. No colon so I drink way more than I eat. Eating just isn't exciting when you have to eat the same food over and over right
My wife has Achalasia, which is an autoimmune disorder that attacks the Lower Esophageal Sphincter, making it very difficult, if not impossible to swallow. She had corrective surgery in March, but it has had the lousy side effect of giving her GERD. She is going back in the spring to now correct that, but in the meantime she is living on Carafate, antacids, and PPI's.
No. She is atypical in that there has never been any "wasting". She eats now and puts up with the subsequent pain, she just has to sleep elevated.
juicy medium rare Ribeye steak, baked potato with butter and sour cream, buttered corn with a Twinkie for desert .
LOL. Reminds me when I had a relative in the ICU, they wanted me to be a witness when they were removing a man from dialysis so he could die as his own request. He said he was hungry and wanted something to eat. The nurse said she would have to check with his doctor. I instinctively said, "Why? He is dying anyway. Give him steak and lobster if he wants it." He and his family just laughed like crazy but the nurse looked like I had just stomped her kitty.
Lol! Well thanks for your replies. Some of them are very interesting to say the least! I think for my last meal, I would want roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy or maybe chicken thighs with a sweet and spicy glaze with twice baked potatoes? I don't know but potatoes MUST be included because I love potatoes!
Iced tea, Fried chicken with real mashed potatoes smothered in pan gravy. Sauteed green beans with bacon and onion. Cornbread with honey butter. fruited jello salad, and pecan pie al la mode. I also want a breath mint right before I enter the chamber.
