They've been rolling out a "retro games" initiative to buy and sell used games for a number of older systems as well as the systems themselves and their accessories. This company has awful policies with respect to destroying items they cannot or will not sell, however! They will smash working items with a freaking hammer and toss them in the trash! I don't even want to think about them doing this to any 8-bit or 16-bit games, consoles or accessories. Supply is limited and constantly dwindling. It is stupid in the extreme to destroy any of these items purposely, but Game Stop is very corporate and more concerned with its shareholders than doing the right thing. They are the embodiment of the heartless, soulless, greedy corporation.

Also, as an aside, they are also terrible about detecting fakes (reproduction cartridges and the like), meaning that if you order a certain game you may well end up with one of those, and they are no good about telling you whether you will receive a case and/or manual with your game, which can be rather important to some people! Really, there is no positive to dealing with this company, and again, they are now an active threat to classic games and associated hardware. That's why I say avoid them at all cost!

Maybe they smash the games so they can sell digital versions, and reduce overhead at the same time.
