Trump declared the opioid crisis to be a "national emergency" on August 10th. A national emergency means federal funds are allocated to deal with the emergency. Trump has done nothing about it at all. So a further statement from trump on this would be "...but I and my administration will do nothing about it." This is a "first" for a "national emergency". Why does he do nothing about it?.... probably because it would add to the debt but not put any money in his or his pals' pockets, which seems to be the reality behind everything he does.
