We made China the economic, and military, threat it is today. It is bad enough that the US has allowed, and even financed, the rise of China's power through people like Trump, Romney, and others, doing business there, but are we now to set back, and watch our children die simply because some billionaires are too greedy to care?

What We're Reading: Former Insys CEO Arrested in Fentanyl-Prescribing Scheme - See more at: http://www.ajmc.com/newsroom/what-w...tanyl-prescribing-scheme#sthash.M8l4HPyT.dpuf

The Department of Justice has announced the arrest of the former CEO of Insys Therapeutics, along with 5 other executives, for leading a “nationwide conspiracy” that bribed clinicians to prescribe the fentanyl-based painkiller Subsys.

Prosecutors charged the executives with providing kickbacks to practitioners who wrote large quantities of Subsys prescriptions and defrauding the insurance companies paying for the drug. “In doing so, they contributed to the growing opioid epidemic and placed profit before patient safety,” said special agent Harold H. Shaw in the press release.

Seems they are doing to us what the Dutch did to them before the collapse of the Chinese empire.

Actually it was Bill Clinton who signed Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China. George Bush (and many Republicans) were very enthusiastic about it as well.

It was also Bill Clinton that refused to allow China full membership in the WTO. That was done by Bush43. PNTR was first pursued by Nixon.

Now, what has any Republican done to end the free fall of Fentanyl into the US from China? You do know you can go to the "dark web" and get Fentanyl delivered to your front door by mail, right?

A Republican view on fighting the opioid crises. If you don't stop China you won't stop the crises:

    http://www.philly.com/philly/opinio...r-marino-dea-disaster-editorial-20171020.html

"In accepting Rep. Tom Marino’s request to withdraw his nomination to become the administration’s drug czar, President Trump tweeted that the Republican representative from Pennsylvania was “a fine congressman.”

A typical congressman might be a more accurate description. Too many members of Congress today seem more motivated by special interests that spend lavish sums to open legislators’ minds than they are concerned with the best interests of their constituents.

An investigation by 60 Minutes and the Washington Post linked nearly $100,000 in campaign contributions Marino received from the pharmaceutical industry to his sponsorship of legislation that has made the Drug Enforcement Administration’s job more difficult.

Marino denied any quid pro quo but quit his quest to become Trump’s head of the DEA. In stepping back, the congressman from Lycoming County simply accepted reality. Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.), whose state has been rocked by the opioid crisis, said the Senate would confirm Marino’s nomination “over my dead body.”

Marino’s bill, which became law in April 2016, raised the bar from “imminent danger” to “immediate threat” for the DEA to stop suspicious shipments from drug companies that it suspected would end up in the hands of criminal enterprises.

Marino had spent years trying to get versions of his bill passed. The successful version reportedly was written by a former DEA lawyer who had taken a revolving-door job with the drug industry and testified in favor of the legislation."

China is largely our friend and trading partner. My iphone X would cost me far more without low cost Chinese manufacturing and engineering. Further, we are far better off than when they and USSR were communist and wanted to destroy us and our way of life. Now they are just like us and intimately tied to our economy so there is no need for war at all and much need for friendship.

Trump declared the opioid crisis to be a "national emergency" on August 10th. A national emergency means federal funds are allocated to deal with the emergency. Trump has done nothing about it at all. So a further statement from trump on this would be "...but I and my administration will do nothing about it." This is a "first" for a "national emergency".

Why does he do nothing about it?.... probably because it would add to the debt but not put any money in his or his pals' pockets, which seems to be the reality behind everything he does.

Trump is against the liberal war on our families schools and religion. Further he is against the liberal policies that off shored our jobs to China and other places. Any more questions?

?? not just Russia but 132 other countries that tried or our trying communism. Red China also slowly starved 60 million to death. Communism turned Cuba into a modern day liberal concentration camp. Do you understand? What is your fascination with this death cult anyway? What more vile and deadly movement could you have hitched your wagon to?
