I just finished a new one-season series on Netflix called The OA. I loved it!!! It is very creative and a story wonderfully told. A bit of strange reality added [and apparent after watching] is that the producer died right after this was released. https://www.theatlantic.com/enterta...oughly-weird-totally-absorbing-puzzle/510971/ Another great new series on Netflix is Black Mirror. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/01/05/button-pusher Also, The Perfect 46, a fascinating peak into a future that may be right around the corner. Could dating sites soon include genetic screening? The Perfect 46 delves deeply into complex moral and ethical questions we will soon face. https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-n...es-ethical-dilemmas-of-genetic-screening.html

I liked Shooter but the season finale just aired. Might be able to watch it on demand for free if you be interested. Unfortunately, I have seen far more things on TV recently that I would advise folks to stay away from than I could suggest they even pour one episode's worth of time into.
A bit off topic perhaps, but several times I have gone for long periods without watching any tv at all, then when I watch some of the tv shows all I can think of is "this is so stupid, unrealistic, and mindless". That's a common reaction from people who return to tv after a long absence.
Vikings History Channel. Drawing heavily (but not entirely) from The Saga of Ragnar Lothbrok this appears to be well researched and devoted to not doing too much violence to the actual facts, and beyond telescoping about 150 years into one generation so far it seems to be living up to that. The characters are well drawn and faithful to the originals where such exist. It reflects latest scholarship in that the Vikings have returned to being seen as ruthless warriors mainly, rather than the somewhat aggressive traders with a bad press they were seen as by most late 20thc historians
One of the best but what are we calling new? If Vikings is new I could go on for pages with things like Salem,Gotham, the Flash, The Arrow, DC Legends, Supergirl, the 100,Timeless and many others
