So the cross burnings, terrorizing people into not voting was peaceful protest? I'm not watching an hour long movie, give me times maybe but this looks like a sad attempt at this. Mostly because what are you saying is white? Are Italians white? Are Germans white? What about Slavs? Racism doesn't work, simple as that.

The KKK was born out of necessity. As stated earlier, Whites in the post war South were disenfranchised.
Ah yes, because "whites were under black rule" the KKK decided to also attack their fellow white Catholics. And it was not limited to white Catholics alone. If you were not SPECIFICALLY a white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant you were an enemy of the KKK.

It's a sad fact that lately, twice as many Blacks are murdered (almost always by their fellow Blacks) as were reportedly killed by the KKK over an 80 year time span. Black people have consistently accounted for close to half the country's homicide victims, making up more than 50 percent of the broader pool of those killed overall every year since 2010. The number of black victims increased 15 percent in 2015 over 2014. Of the 13,455 cases from last year in which the FBI listed a victim's racial information, 7,039 victims – or 52.3 percent – were black. That compares with 5,854 cases – or 43.5 percent – in which the victim was white, an increase of about 8 percent from last year.
