note video time 0:28 pointing the gun by the officer was way to premature, ok now i can see him drawing it out of the holster, but aiming it on the subject was way to early what the HELL was he doing:confusion: and extreme now the service weapon is more likely a glock with no safety not like a old model beretta has [IMG] thus delaying the itchy trigger finge,r action of a officer

Not only that, notice the hostile glowering. How much more uppity can you get? Obviously, the BLACK man's death was well deserved. The officer was surely justified in feeling his life in danger if a BLACK man happened to look at him in this dangerous and menacing fashion /satire

The article in your first post says they were working as security guards not the police. They do not have the same authority as a police officer. Without a weapon present 7 seconds is way to fast to shoot someone at that distance.

To me, itlooks more like a Cosby sweater than something from Africa but why do you care what the man wears?

Let me see if I understand.

Cops think guy is a robbery suspect, order him to stop.

Suspect refuses to stop or comply with police, then proceeds to point at one with a box cutter.

Police proceed to shoot non-complying, foreign object pointing potential robbery suspect.

Maybe the ******* moron should have 1) complied with police and 2) not have pointed a shiny silver looking object at police

Sounds like a good shoot to me.

    I don't know, I can't tell.

Regardless, thinking you can ignore and be combative with the police and point around with foreign objects is what normally gets one shot.

An intelligent person would stop, drop whatever they're carrying, and put their damn arms in the air.

Cops are justifiably nervous, what with people actively hunting them.

    I didn't understand that either.

At any rate we were not there nor is it clear enough to know what actually happened from a poorly lit camera 3 times the distance from the actual shooting.

If you cant tell why did you post

"Suspect refuses to stop or comply with police, then proceeds to point at one with a box cutter.

Because that's what it looks like to me, but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt since it's not exactly hi-def video.

He was comparing Glocks to M9 Berreta's and assuming that carrying a pistol with a safety is somehow a good idea for LE. Personally I can't stand any pistol with a safety, and there's a good reason that LE don't carry them.

Glad someone else caught that. It's a pet peeve of mine.

I can see how some people might be confused by a gun with a safety. If people are afraid of safeties why not use a revolver?

Do you think what black thinks when a policeman raises his gun? I think that black people are very nervous and fear that police will kill him anyway. When a person is frightened then he can do some inappropriate actions.

They use other types of guns to shoot white men? Or other types of guns to shoot black men in the front? Or what?

Not defending the PoPo in this incident (at all), but wanted to address your point.

When I'm frightened of a place, a situation, or a certain kind of person, I have the choice to avoid that place/situation/person. I'm fairly sure that the victim in this case did not need to walk alone up a dark alley late at night, in an area with a high crime rate. He could just as easily stayed home with his family, and gone to bed at 10pm ... like a 'normal' person - even if he had the misfortune to live in the area. In other words, why would any 'normal' person choose to wander the dark alleys late at night, alone, in a high crime area? I have to ask because it's so obviously WRONG on so many levels that you can't even begin to begin. And it was his choice.

He is not afraid criminals. He is afraid the police because the police kill for a petty reason. He could run from a fear of being killed or start to gesticulate for example.

Off duty, meaning they are not performing the job of police officers, they are working as security guards. If the guy doesn't listen to a security guard who tells him to stop no law gives them the right to shoot him.
