    snip

A man who lost a lawsuit against San Diego police who arrested him for nudity during a gay pride festival has apparently committed suicide...................................

The San Diego Union-Tribune says police were called to the apartment of 35-year-old Will X. Walters Wednesday but it's unclear how long he'd been dead. The case is under investigation by the medical examiner.............................

Walters sued police for anti-gay discrimination but a federal jury ruled against him.

His legal team has said Walters racked up roughly $1 million in legal costs

    end snip

The loss of life is tragic. I'm not sure why a man who exposed himself in public felt that he was wrongly arrested. If San Diego has rules that those partipating in homosexual events can be nude then OK, he should not have been arrested.

What I see is a mom and dad have lost a son who appears to have been crying out for help and attention.

Do you think nudity should be cumpulsory at Gay Pride events and that the police over-reacted?

The law is very precise when it comes to public decency,
    keep the people civilized.
Well, that 1M is indeed enough to coerce somebody to commit suicide,
mostly if freedom in US prisons are quite limited.

I appreciate you keeping us up to speed on gay news. Public nudity is illegal for all. (Thank goodness. No one wants to see your junk!)

If they want to have an indoor event with adults only, then fine.

Public nudity is illegal for all, yet he feels his arrest was due to "anti-gay discrimination"? He went a million in debt to fight this losing battle, and predictably lost. Then he killed himself to avoid paying his tab. What a loser.

Ha! When I think of gay marriage, the first thought is of hot lesbians. You went straight for "Hairy men"!!! Ha! I guess we know whats on your mind.

Im not an Obama fan, but same sex marriage does not infringe on any of my rights, so who the hell cares?

    That is funny....

    but...

Marriage is between a man and a woman.

Gays should have civil unions with the benefits of marriage.

I feel sorry for the guy but he sounds messed up from the get go.

Some people come up with genius ways to scam insurance companies,... with success.
And there are idiots who are a lot less successful.

Agreed. Why would someone feel it OK to expose himself at a public event. Why would he cite livig the gay lifestye as justification unless of course he has seen other gay pride events where nudity is almost cumpulsory. In the end, there is another case of suicide among someone who has chosen the gay lifestyle.

More and more there is growing correlation among those who are suicidal and those who choose gay sex. IMO, if we really want to help people then we need to dig into the cause and stop trying to claim that choosing gay sex then brings about pressure while the opposite seems to be true, that folks of a certain mindset and harmful behaviors choose controversial things like gay sex as one of those activities. I hope the day comes soon where we stop patronizing peope who are so desperately in need of help and stop telling them that their abnormal behavior is normal.

Trump says he's "fine" with gay marriage. Obama didn't legalize gay marriage nationwide; the Supreme Court did. Trump says the matter is now "settled." Anyone who voted for Trump because of an issue like this one did so mistakenly, though perhaps Trump's flip-flopping on this issue (first for gay marriage nationwide, then against it, no for it again) is to blame.

People will try to sue for anything it seems, however one part of this one that bothers me is the greedy legal team that saw an open and shut case of Public Nudity...and still ran up a Million Dollar tab on this guy. Sounds like someone got fleeced knowingly to me.

What possible expectations of victory did his legal team really have here, and how did they not see this verdict coming?

    Smells like greed.

The definition of marriage has changed over the years.

It no longer means "Til death do you part!"

What should we call it when we braid two wires together and solder them? (Married joint!)

You can define marriage any way you want; your definition should never be forced onto others.

I'm sorry the idea of 2 consenting aged adults having the FREEDOM to get married in America troubles you SO MUCH.
Perhaps you should relocate to Iran, I'm pretty sure they feel the same way about them darned gays as you do!

Blame the lawyers for charging him an absurd $1,000,000 in legal fees.

You need to show up at a gay pride parade once, you would not believe what you will see. I would say they do not skirt the laws of public decency they blow it out of the water.

No law made it illegal to get married without a government issued license. Gays were always free to marry. They just didn't get the tax breaks and governmental entitlements that come with a government license. AND tax breaks and governmental entitlements aren't "FREEDOM"s so stop whining about freedom.

Homosexuality is a behavioral disorder. It is no wonder that those who suffer from it have additional mental health issues.

Perhaps there can be better advances in pharmacology in the future to deal with the underlying aspects of these disorders.

Its the gay marriage logic, applied to nudity ordinances. That the enforcement of nudity ordinance on the gay pride parade was alleged to be motivated by anti-gay animus, just as the limitation of marriage to men and women was claimed to be motivated by animus towards homosexuals. Laws motivated by animus against the group discriminated against never pass constitutional standards of equal protection.

Yes, I also think of hot lesbians.

But if you change and expand the definition of marriage (gays, polygamists, two men and a dog) it devalues the significance of marriage.

Odd isn't it - America, global porn capital and home to plastic breasts........yet you don't allow people to go topless on beaches or go naked at things like this.
