When illegals come to this country, they have no money or jobs. They depend on the US for welfare and health care.

So why not put them in tent cities that can move with the wall as it is built. Put the men to work building the wall and the women to cook and wash for them. They can therefor pay their own way. Maybe it would deter more illegals from coming here since they would see what was in store for them.

Further since they are mainly Mexican nationals, all the cost of the food and medical care should be billed to Mexico. There is NO reason why the US taxpayers should have to support them.

Lol! Breaking news! So much for making Mexico pay for the Wall. Trump just asked Congress to have the American tax payer pay for it. The lies just keep coming don't they?. What a joke this man is. Trump supporters, are you feeling (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) yet?

Considering Trump has helped the Mexican economy take a nose-dive in the last 3 weeks, we will be lucky if we don't end up with a Middle-eastern type refugee crisis on our Southern border. Hell, make Mexico pay for it? We'll be lucky if there is a Mexican government still standing or that we don't have to put billions into foreign aid to prop it up.

Unintended consequences are a b*tch. Welcome to the White House Mr. Trump.

There are too many laws and regulation that need to be abolished before better plans like this can work.

What an illogical post/thread. You want to put illegals to work but in order to do that they woukd have to admit that they are illegal which is admitting that they violated the law hense they would be admitting that they are criminals. If you put them to work you then have accepted them as having the right to be here. Of course I do not believe that more than .00076% of illegals would voluntarily admitted that they are illegals hense criminals. Even if such a stupid idea was to work for a small tiny number of illegals they woukd have to be the dumbest of the dumb therefore you will get no useful work out of them.

You can be Mexico 24/7 for your ridiculous plan that is no quarantine they will. You going to send bill collectors down to Mexico go collect the debt?

What we need to do is start charging Mexico for deportation proceedings, costs for incarceration and lawsuits to proceed against Mexico for the actions of their citizens.

If we start hitting them where it hurts, their government will hopefully start working on their side of the border to cut down on illegal immigration.

Of course, the only real way for Mexico to pay for the wall would be confiscating money that immigrants send back to Mexico. That would be stealing, however. Are the Republicans okay with that, because they always proclaim to be against someone taking other people's money. Or does that principle only old if that "other" is a non-immigrant?

    Really?
Immigrants come to America for jobs. They stay with friends or family or at cheap motels, and then they find work.
Xenophobes - led by Trump - have tried to paint a picture of millions of people illegally crossing from one particular country so they can come to the US and commit crimes and sponge off our system. The reality is that crime rates among undocumented immigrants are lower than among US citizens, because they tend to lay low, and because they came here to work. And no, they cannot collect welfare or food stamps.
The other reality is that undocumented immigrants are estimated to pay $13 billion a year in taxes. Donald Trump pays zero.

We all KNOW how the wall will be paid for. Increased taxes on the working poor income, increased federal taxes on oil, phone and food, less food stamps for the unemployed, the Veteran on the street, reduced services for all programs that help society stay afloat when the rich tank the jobs.

Why not deport them? Tent cities are another form of Syrian refugee camps. Send them back and let Mexico feed and house them. American workers deserves those jobs building the wall.

Surprise, surprise; Census Bureau data reveals that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies. Even before the recession, immigrant households with children used welfare programs at consistently higher rates than natives, according to the extensive census data collected and analyzed by a nonpartisanWashington D.C. group dedicated to researching legal and illegal immigration in the U.S. The results, published this month in a lengthy report, are hardly surprising.Basically, the majority of households across the country benefitting from publicly-funded welfare programs are headed by immigrants, both legal and illegal. States where immigrant households with children have the highest welfare use rates are Arizona (62%), Texas, California and New York with 61% each and Pennsylvania(59%).The study focused on eight major welfare programs that cost the government $517 billion the year they were examined. They include Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for the disabled, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), a nutritional program known as Women, Infants and Children (WIC), food stamps, free/reduced school lunch, public housing and health insurance for the poor (Medicaid).Food assistance and Medicaid are the programs most commonly used by illegal immigrants, mainly on behalf of their American-born children who get automatic citizenship. On the other hand, legal immigrant households take advantage of every available welfare program, according to the study, which attributes it to low education level and resulting low income. The highest rate of welfare recipients come from the Dominican Republic (82 %), Mexico and Guatemala (75%) and Ecuador (70%), according to the report, which says welfare use tends to be high for both new arrivals and established residents.

Instead of tent cities, why don't we retain those Sanctuary Cities? Or are we going to continue whining over one bad apple, and politicize Kate Steinle even more? Have you ever heard of migrant workers either?

Your imbecile-in-chief just said he will be hitting up Congress, to leave Smart Americans paying for his stupid-ass wall idea. Who will pay for the wall? Americans! From the looks o your OP, it seems like you firmly believe women should be housewives exclusively, and men do mens work. Have the yet-to-be-documented stay in these Sanctuary Cities while they work on this beloved wall.

It took a special kind of stupid to believe Mexico was going to pay for it all along. This proves it.

No, don't confiscate it just make it illegal to transfer funds out of the country using "western Union" type xfers. Also stop the ability of Social Security to send money to beneficiaries in Mexico or South America.

Both used to be illegal just a few decades ago, nothing new or unconstitutional.

    Cheers

I don't know either, but Trump has floated that idea. Even if it not confiscating but just taxing those money transfers.

How would that pay for the wall?
