Meryl Streep speech about Donald Trump was perfect

He ran on an anti politically correct platform which is actually a bully pulpit. His supporters say liberals lost the election because they called people bigots and racists. Then in turn these same people mock the liberals with their own brand of rude behaviour. And it was nice to hear Meryl acknowledge this in her speech.

"Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence invites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose."

The whole world has lost.

 

And she never once mentioned Trump by name.

The subject of Ms. Streeps "address" aside, what's so striking, at least IMO, is the way Hollywood events / personalities have increasingly become politicized. Viewers used to watch to glimpse the designer fashions, and hot new Hollywood couples. Now it looks like there's a growing segment of voters who actually watch just to be sure their personal political views are in concert with those views espoused by Hollywoods most beloved .Is it info-tainment, or just propaganda, and should " equal time" apply?

 

Ever notice how progressives spend a lot of time complaining about CEO salaries and bonuses, yet give Hollywood actresses and actors a pass on how much they make? The average CEO of a Fortune 500 company makes several million a year, yet Meryl Streep probably makes 10-20 million per movie.

 

While the lowest paid person makes nothing since they are an intern and not unionized yet. Talk about a disproportionate income equality.
