Plans are being draw up to give tourists and visitors to America the opportunity to take a short, 1/2 day gun course and then have a weapon during their stay.

Until now, tourists have been placed in danger by not allowing them to protect themselves while on holiday.

Everyone knows that the US is a lovely but dangerous place so its about time that visitors had the chance to arm and protect themselves.

Machine guns with your hire car! ;0)

As long as foreign tourists aren't afforded more rights with less hassle than American citizens, go for it.

So, who exactly is drawing up these plans?

Funny, I never feel in danger. I've carried for more than five years and never pulled my gun. What danger? I'm sure there is no more danger here than anywhere else. You're statement is hyperbolic.

Stats show that if your not a gang member or involved in drugs in ghetto areas, you are as safe as most other similar countries.

It was a light hearted joke - I'm a bit surprised that people took it seriously!
