Well he's done it again. Ford, Carrier, Sprint, Oneweb and now Alibbaba.

President-elect Donald Trump said he had a "great meeting" with Alibaba executive chairman Jack Ma on Monday, when they discussed 1 million new U.S. jobs.

"We're focused on small business," Ma told reporters. "We specifically talked about ... supporting 1 million small businesses, especially in the Midwest of America. Small businesses on the platform selling products — agriculture products and America services — to China and Asia, because we're pretty big in Asia."

We had a great meeting, and a great, great entrepreneur, one of the best in the world, and he loves this country, and he loves China," Trump said. "Jack and I are going to do some great things."

Shares of Alibaba's stock rose 1 percent on Monday.

Isn't it amazing how when you go from a President whose "Dreams from (his) Father" included lifting up the colonized 3rd world countries whilst bringing down the post-industrial colonizer nations, to a President who believes in the country and wants it to succeed, things get better?

    Think, people, think!!

How is Alibaba going to create 1 million jobs in the US when the only employ 26,000 people in China?

    Answer: They are not.

Think before you declare your hero is walking on water.

Note in edit: Incidentally, Alibaba stock went up 1% after the announcement. Mission accomplished, and the rubes got played.

What exactly did Trump do to get this "victory" ? Be specific........

And wasn't China the"enemy" during the campaign for "manipulating their currency" ?

Yeah, their stock went up on the announcement. Hmmmmmm, wonder if that was the real reason for the meeting....hmmmmmmmmm

So we are going to have a million americans selling crap on Chinese etsy?

Doesn't sound quite like a winning strategy to me, but I am generally skeptical by nature anyway.

This is good the Chinese providing marketing for their own products here in the US and the rest of the world,
I hope they could transfer manufacturing as well (doubtful) and if everything goes right Trump will never impose higher tariffs for Chinese imported goods.
China is such a wizard when it comes to business.
They expanded now even reaching New Zealand buying properties and of course establishing business,
US now became a part of their global business domination.

Except Trump wasn't a factor in Sprint, Ford, Fiat-Chrysler's "deals", and played a slight role in Carrier's, giving tax incentives to be put toward automation, thus replacing jobs held by Americans. Watch as Trump attempts to take credit for Volvo's plant in SC as well.

    Thanks for the laugh though.

Someone here has an "Apple" netbook with a bad battery and it took a lot of searching but I finally found the manufacturer selling the computer on Ali Baba. I knew it wasn't an Apple as per the lit logo in the cover because it had XP installed and a two button touch pad.
You could buy this netbook with your choice of logos free, 3D laser logos for Dell, Apple, HP,etc...for $5 extra and the Apple light in the cover was $10 extra.

A company openly and blatantly advertising counterfeit goods through Ali Baba. I wouldn't buy toothpicks from them.

Did you read my above post? THEY ARE NOT CREATING 1 MILLION JOBS!!!

Heck, Apple employs only 116,000, Microsoft only 94,000. Do you really think just a meeting with Trump will make Alibaba grow 30 fold and become a 10-fold bigger company than Apple and Microsoft? That would mean they'll be 2nd after Walmart only in terms of number of jobs.

    Look at the numbers!!!

So Trump doesn't hate China any more? In just a few weeks China is now no longer an adversary but a good buddy?

You couldn't make this up; the master of flip-flops has just provided even more evidence that he hasn't a clue what is going on, diplomatically. What an idiot; he makes grandiose statements designed to do little more than attract approval so that he can preen himself and feed his grotesque ego in their wake, and then fails to back them up with actions. I recall he promised Scotland 'thousands' of jobs on one of the useless golf courses which he appears obsessed with. Fewer than 200 resulted.
He attacks the Scottish locals opposed to having their land appropriated to accommodate his golf-course, calling them 'pigs', lies to them and expects to be taken seriously? He is the embodiment of a sociopath. A thoroughly nasty piece of work.

And the Left will rush to slap the industry with cancer warnings, enviro-hysteria laws, and health-vision-dental-pension-$50/hr-wage regulations, until it costs American businesses $75 to produce one unit where the Chinese can deliver a container ship full for pocket change.

Oh and on top of all of that somebody over at Salon or Huff-N-Cuck is going to find ...some way ...to label those geegaws as racist.

Oh, so bringing a business into an area creating thousands of jobs and no other businesses will be affected requiring hiring more jobs? Yeah, so depressing

Oh, now it is thousands of jobs? Your headline says 1 million.

Plus, don't you think that Alibaba selling useless crap is cutting into the ability of others to sell useless crap? So, how is no other business affected by it?

I know, though, whatever realists say will not affect the need of the Trump fans to make him appear to walk on water.

Curious where you got 26,000 from?

Salon? Addictinginfo perhaps? Or did a new "fact check " site pop up over night?

Alibaba will sell nation wide, and who are you to determine what is useless junk?

Just curious why you are against creating jobs in the US?
