Just wanted to repeat Wrathful Buddha's pearl about dogs.

They are unequivocally the best creatures on earth. We are always better with them than without them.

Did it really take you that long to figure that out? Honestly? I was probably around 10 when I realised adults aren't these all-knowing Gods wandering Earth to protect us.
Must have been the time you figured out the tooth fairy was really your Mom.
Let me tell you about my Border Collie or my little Blue Heeler.

How our illusions can be so cruelly shattered eh? It has ruined my day!

Truthful and kind words mean a lot.
Getting what you want may not be what you want.
Things aren't the key to happiness.
A baby's first laugh is the most beautiful sound you can hear.
Good deeds done in secret are the most rewarding.
Take time to listen to people.
    Laugh, smile and be happy.

    Nope. Shut up!

    See above.

Things aren't the key to happiness.
    Then what is?

A baby's first laugh is the most beautiful sound you can hear.
    I prefer their last.

Good deeds done in secret are the most rewarding.
How can you be sure? If they are secrets you cannot really know.

Take time to listen to peo...

Ritter, that is a funny post.

I also prefer to hear the babies last laugh.

Since, there started to be laughter in this thread.

Another lesson that I learnt recently,
Happiness from food, strip clubs and prostitutes, doesnt last long.

Fat is fat. Age doesn't matter. But I do just fine. In fact, my dating life since divorcing is considered by my friends to be the gold standard. Not to mention that about 80-90% of the women who come up as a match on dating sites, based on age and location, are obese. It is tough for an older man who isn't willing to settle.

Beyond that, I don't like the attitude many women my age have. If they aren't obese, they often seem angry or controlling. Some even chew you out in their profile or make it clear they would be intolerable. I know there are good ones out there but I don't have the time to waste looking. Meanwhile, I've dated a dozen gorgeous young women in their 20s over the last 20 months, since the love of my life left. I am in love with youth and beauty. And a 22 yo made me happier than I thought possible. I'm sticking with what works. Either I'll find true love with a young beauty or I'll die trying.

Lesson in life: Never settle. Go for the gold.
