http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38537689?SThisFB Very good. The more US tanks, soldiers, howitzers on Europe's soil - the better
Obama deploys the tanks to counter Russian aggressions that he completely ignored for years. Crimean annexation, Ukrainian occupation, Syrian intervention all went unanswered ... but, hack DNC servers and embarrass the party? Oh, not on his watch. Notably, Obama will deploy the tanks, leaving Trump to deal with Russian reactions. Thank god Trump's the right guy for the job.
This last minute stand by Obama against the evil Commissar Putin would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic. He waits til he has 2 weeks to go in office to grow a pair?
At this time the European barbarians will not be able to attack first. Better to let Germany turn into a radioactive desert than German barbarians invade Russia again. Fun fact: this is the first time under Obama that troops have been deployed to Europe to counter Russian provocation. Does the Rightwing memory only go back 3 months at a time or is blatant lying just the standard tactic now?
Yes, because provoking the Russians is such a great idea. Remember the Cuban missile crisis and how siting US nuclear missiles aimed at Moscow, in Turkey, brought us that close to global thermonuclear annihilation in 1962?
Their deployment is defensive. A single Brigade of US armor, combined with local forces in the Baltics, and other forces that the US can rapidly airlift to Europe in the event of a crisis, is enough to make an invasion of the Baltics too expensive for Russia to go through with.
Having had the pleasure of being stationed in Germany in the 80's, I can confim, US military personell have never been deployed in sufficient numbers to repel an invading force. US troops are in effect, human shields. Any hostile actions directed against US troops, assures swift, decisive US military response. Hence the US presence in S. Korea for example ...
"allies"? We don't need the pathetic European Union. I'd much prefer us saving our money, pulling out of that god forsaken area, and letting Russia and Europe duke it out. Maybe Europe wants to try and take over Russia one day? Cool, I don't care. None of our business. Moral of the story, the United States doesn't need the Queen's assistance. It's the other way around.
You know what would definitely benefit America? If all our debt securities held by European nations instead ended up in the hands of Russia.
That's quite the prognostication ... I'm tempted to review your "older posts" to see how your pre-election predictions fared ... though my "intuition" tells me I needn't bother ... Trump has only stated that he expects more participation, and contribution from NATO allies. He has not said he advocates recalling US forces stationed in Europe.
I'll remind you of this next time you come begging for help from us after another disaster like Katrina. As I recall you officially asked not only Britain, but the European Union, for emergency aid. You're welcome.
Works for me. I'd much rather us handle it ourselves. I don't care what happens between Russia and Europe. Heck, Europe might become Russia one day so the US better start playing nice. But who knows. First step, save our money and ditch Europe! Next step? Don't care
You couldn't handle it yourselves, that's the point-just like you couldn't handle defeating Nazi Germany and Japan without massive assistance from the Soviet Union.
