Imagine that Republicans keeps winning elections, and Democrats fall to maybe 15% of the voting population. They win some State Governors here and there, But ultimately Republicans control almost everything. And at some point to be a successful politician you simply have to be a Republican. There is still voting but it's really unlikely that a democrat will ever win. And let's say this actually goes on for the couple of decades. Would you like this?

Same question to the Democrats. But obviously the Democrats are in power.

No. And America is a centrist nation. Plus, Americans usually get tired when one party is in power too long.

There is a reason I keep trying to explain to the leftist here that they need to change tactics. Your current tactics of screaming racist at everyone who disagrees with you has now passed into the "Crying Wolf" stage. Worse it has clearly become self defeating.

I prefer both side. Democrat 2017 or 2020 first women as president. If one Party system must rise it must was Communist Party. National Socialist isn't right for black humanity. Whole USA changes they strukture from none Communism to real Communism unlikely of Belarus in Europe.

Generally, this is what I believe: Either a multi-tier party(like England) or a one-party system. The name of the game in government, is to get things done. In a multi-polar government, the factions would inevitably understand that even with a slight majority, they wouldn't have enough to pass the bill. So they'd have to compromise(parish the thought!) in order to get legislation passed(and I'm not one of those Libertarians who think the most effective government is an empty building lol)

However, if we recognize that to be the true utility of government then the one-party State is clearly superior. There would still be arguments in such a system, but along ideological instead of party lines(IE: Let's say it's a conservative one-party state. You'd have the battle between fiscal and social conservatives). But in the end, the fissure would diffuse and the solution would pass.

And on the issues where no fissure even exists, the measure would pass easily and simply. Government moves faster, more efficient without opposition. That's what Trump is learning now. The ideology of what government should be, and what it actually is: Muddled by fools, makes it a really tasking thing.

That's why the one-party state is clearly superior. At best, they try to argue the validity of the argument itself. But the argument is a deterrent to government, and thus a deterrent to the country.

What you're recommending is an oligarch. Rule by Omnipotent Majority.

By the model that you offer...

...The Individual, and any group of Individuals composing any Minority, would have no protection against the unlimited power of The Majority.

What do you think the role of government is in America?

An Oligarchy, to be more exact is rule by the financial elite. I have proclaimed my Fascist-Technocracy. If I had it my way, we'd be ran by a government of competent officials at every level: The financial sector ruled by the best financial people, the education sector ruled by the best educational people. And so forth and on down the line. Each "group" with its own individual responsibilities, and we would never have a faltering system ever again.

And in such a world where we optimized every component of living, no human being would ever be beneath their potential again. There is no valid argument for democracy, there is no "splinter" of power. What kind of splinter can there be, when the choice is between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump?
There's no splinter. No spot for your voice.

And if that's true for 'democracy', the most open and chaotic of systems then it's true for every other system in government. Indeed, freedom and choice are illusions. I believe in Guided Freedom as opposed to Universal Freedom. I believe in thoughts and actions guided by principle. The principle of yourself as an individual, and at large: the principle of the State is what guides the people in it.

With guided freedom(or recognition of one's limitations is another way to put it), we can exercise our fullest capabilities. Whereas our "universal freedom" cancels itself out, leading to competition surrounding who gets to exercise their freedom. The role of government is to create the ideal society for humans to function in. And that has never been, and never will be: In the fractured, weak democracy that has no arguments for itself. No argument on how it could create the ideal society, it doesn't even pretend to try.

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men . . ." - (Declaration of Independence)

In America, government has but 1 role. And that is to protect liberty. In America, Man organizes government to be his tools. I just read through what you've written and you've contradicted yourself several times. As if you haven't really thought your agument through all the way and do not really understand the concepts/philosophies which you try to speak of. Respectfully.

One thing that I would say is to remember to separate American government from "government." Government is a very broad term. But American gvernment is clearly defined and guided by a set of principles and founding documents which guarantee that The Individual does not become the subject of a King such as that which we see in a Monarchy.

America is like no other government in the world. In America, the Majority is Limited for Liberty. This is the beauty of a Constitutional Republic.

Anyway. I'll offer you some reading so that you may take the opportunity to better understand what Liberty means in America as well as the intended role of government and its relation to Individuals and groups of Individuals.

    http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/AmericanIdeal/index.html

Any aggression against these principles or this founding form of government is why the second amendment exists. Take from it what you may.

Doesn't work and cannot work, human beings simply become increasingly corrupt the more power they have. Add to this the fact that we are neither omniscient or omnipresent or omnipotent and you have a recipe for unintended consequences on a grand scale

Of course there is a difference. The Republican party is controlled by rich Republicans while the Democratic party is controlled by rich Democrats.

Our system depends upon the swing of the pendulum to keep us on a more-or-less straight course. Like a spinning gyroscope, a tilt to the left increases pressure to move right, and a tilt to the right increases pressure to move left. Republicans (*)(*)(*)(*) up the country in ways that the democrats eventually come along and mitigate. And, similarly, democrats (*)(*)(*)(*) up the country in ways that republicans have to fix. This pendulum swing is critical to the success of our republic, and if it ever stops like is suggested in the OP, it will herald the end of this great experiment in liberty.

There is no better illustration of what happens when the pendulum has stopped swinging than Detroit.

I'm happy long as we have sane conservatives on the Supreme Court and not radical do gooders who believe the Constitution is a "living, breathing document" that changes with each generation.

Someone tell me again why we need parties?

And I beg to differ. I believe you didn't take any time whatsoever to examine what I wrote and instead went on your own little screed. I've had disagreements with people before, and very rarely have I ever heard that I "didn't understand" what I was writing. Since that's about as little effort as you're going to put into it, I equally will put as little effort into it. Good day.

Nope. I read our post clearly.

    Well, now you have.

I was kind enough to provide for you some pertinent reading material. Reading material that, if read, would help you to understand the shortcomings in your rhetoric and to addressthem on your own. Did I not?

Good idea. This would not have ended well for your arguments. Good day.

Point out at least one 'contradictory' statement. Since you say it's there, you should be able to point it out. But I'm going to summarize that you can't, because if you could you wouldn't have needed my prompting to do it. There's nothing I dislike more than trying to dodge the argument, by attacking the messenger instead.

Trump's cult members yearn for a dictatorship, where anything Trump says becomes the new reality. The gaslighter-in-chief. Trump is infinitely more dangerous than ISIS, and we all know it.

Of course it won't happen. I would like a two party system--with social and fiscal conservatives as one party and social moderates (fiscal conservatives) as the other party.
