I spent most of the day in Temucula California and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Wineries everywhere. A huge Indian casino where they use cards to play roulette and craps because dice and balls aren't allowed. Oh and Old Town Temecula is just outside my hotel door.

I could almost live here if it weren't in California.

On a sad note a homeless man was found dead in the park yesterday near my motel just as I was checking in.

I meant to say ..."where they use cards to play roulette and craps because dice and balls ARE outlawed."

I've never been there but know the area well. Why are dice outlawed? That's strange. And how did you end up going to Temucula? It's not a place I would have thought to make a destination.

I was told (but have not confirmed) that the lawmakers said the casinos couldn't have games of chance other than slots.
Cards aren't considered games of chance since poker and blackjack can be beaten.
So the casinos got around the law by using cards to set up crap and roulette tables.

I'm here because I'm with a friend who's into driving around to wineries and getting smashed.
