A lot of humorous remarks and jokes were made by Trump and other US politicians during last year's election campaigns. Netizens are welcome to share them in this thread. Here are some examples.

Trump: "Now you look at Kasich, I don't think he knows what -- you know, did you see him. He has a news conference all the time when he's eating. I have never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion. I'm always telling my young son Barron, I'm saying -- and always with my kids, all of them, I'd say, children, small, little bites. Small. This guy takes a pancake and he's shoving it in his mouth. He's -- it's disgusting. Do you want that for your president? I don't think so. I don't think so. It's -- honestly, it's disgusting."

Trump: "He's just a stubborn guy. That's all he is, he's a subborn guy. He's like if you have a child who just says, I want it, mommy. I don't care, mommy! I want it, daddy. I don't care. I want it. That's all he is."

Trump: "You ever see it? He's eating today stuffing it -- I never saw bites this big. He's pushing it in with his -- I never saw a guy eat like this. I told my son, he was watching, he said, daddy, look! I said, don't watch. Little bites. Little bites."

Trump: "Look, Mitt is a failed candidate. He failed. He failed horribly. The third - he - he failed badly. That was a race, I have to say, folks, that should have been won. That was a race that absolutely should have been won. And I don't know what happened to him. He disappeared. He disappeared. And I wasn't happy about it, I'll be honest, because I am not a fan of Barack Obama, and that was a race - and I backed Mitt Romney. I backed him. You can see how loyal he is. He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, Mitt, drop to your knees. He would have dropped to his knees. He was begging. True. True. He was begging me."

Trump: "So, anyway, so when I heard Mitt was going to run, a little before this period of time, I was very tough. I said, he can't run. He can't run. He was going to run. He can't run. Then I started to say, look, we've got to keep him out because he's going to lose. He's a choke artist. He's an absolute - and I started hitting him so hard. In fact, people say, why did you hit him so hard? Because we cannot take another loss. We can't take another loss. And Mitt is indeed a choke artist. He choked and he choked like I've never seen anyone choke, other than Rubio when Chris Christie was grilling him. That was one of the great chokes. Oh, no. Rubio of Florida, that was one of the great chokes I've ever seen. He was standing there shaking, sweating. I was getting ready - I'm standing here like this. He's right over here. I'm getting ready to grab him because I thought he was going down. I'm telling you. But Mitt did a big, big choke. And we had to keep him out."

Obama: "Although I am a little hurt that he’s not here tonight. We had so much fun the last time. And it is surprising. You’ve got a room full of reporters, celebrities, cameras, and he says no? Is this dinner too tacky for The Donald? What could he possibly be doing instead? Is he at home, eating a Trump Steak —- tweeting out insults to Angela Merkel? What’s he doing?"

Obama: "The Republican establishment is incredulous that he is their most likely nominee — incredulous, shocking. They say Donald lacks the foreign policy experience to be President. But, in fairness, he has spent years meeting with leaders from around the world: Miss Sweden, Miss Argentina, Miss Azerbaijan."

Obama: "And there’s one area where Donald’s experience could be invaluable -– and that’s closing Guantanamo. Because Trump knows a thing or two about running waterfront properties into the ground."

Obama: "And with that, I just have two more words to say -– Obama out."

Since nobody posts any more amusing remarks to the thread, I add some more here. It is amazing to find US politicians grabbing at each other's throats during the election, but a few of them end up as political opportunists when given a chance to endorse their successful opponent.

The following amusing quotes are taken from Katie Reilly's September 23, 2016 article headlined "14 Times Donald Trump and Ted Cruz Insulted Each Other" at http://time.com/4506350/donald-trump-ted-cruz-insults/

Long before Ted Cruz endorsed Donald Trump, they spent months slinging insults back and forth. Here are some of the most memorable.

Trump said of Cruz on Jan 20, 2016: “He said with the being a Canadian citizen, he said, ‘Oh I didn’t know that.’ How did he not know that? Then he said with the loans, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that,’ Smart guy. He doesn’t know that? Yeah, that’s worse than Hillary when you think about it.”

Trump tweeted on Feb 12, 2016: “How can Ted Cruz be an Evangelical Christian when he lies so much and is so dishonest?”

Trump told Cruz at a primary debate on Feb 13, 2016: “You are the single biggest liar. You probably are worse than Jeb Bush. Nasty guy. Now I know why he doesn’t have one endorsement from any of his colleagues.”

Trump tweeted on March 22, 2016: “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

Cruz tweeted on March 24, 2016 after Trump shared an unflattering comparison of Melania Trump and Heidi Cruz: “Donald, real men don’t attack women. Your wife is lovely, and Heidi is the love of my life.”

Cruz said on March 24, 2016: “It is not acceptable for a big, loud New York bully to attack my wife. It is not acceptable for him to make insults, to send nasty tweets—and I don’t know what he does late at night, but he tends to do these at about 11:30 at night, I assume when his fear is at the highest point. I don’t get angry often. But you mess with my wife, you mess with my kids, that’ll do it every time. Donald, you’re a sniveling coward. Leave Heidi the hell alone."

Cruz tweeted on March 25, 2016: “Donald Trump’s consistently disgraceful behavior is beneath the office we are seeking and we are not going to follow.”

Cruz tweeted on March 29, 2016: “Nominating Donald Trump would be a train wreck. It would be handing the White House over to Hillary Clinton.”

Trump said about Cruz’s father, Rafael, in an interview on May 3, 2016: “His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being—you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous. What was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting? It’s horrible.”

Cruz told reporters on May 3, 2016: “This man is a pathological liar. He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth, and in a pattern that I think is straight out of a psychology text book, his response is to accuse everybody else of lying. The man cannot tell the truth, but he combines it with being a narcissist—a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country’s ever seen. Donald Trump is such a narcissist that Barack Obama looks at him and goes, ‘Dude, what’s your problem?'”

Cruz commented on Trump on May 3, 2016: “The man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him. Donald is a bully. … Bullies come from a deep, yawning cavern of insecurity.”

Cruz said on July 20 in his speech at the Republican National Convention, declining to endorse Trump: “And to those listening, please, don’t stay home in November. If you love our country, and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”

Cruz said on July 21, after declining to endorse Trump in his convention speech: “I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father.”

Trump said at a press conference on July 22, 2016: “Honestly, he may have ruined his political career. I feel so badly. I feel so badly. And you know, he’ll come and endorse over the next little while. He’ll—because he has no choice. But I don’t want his endorsement. What difference does it make? I don’t want his endorsement. I have such great—I don’t want his endorsement. Ted, stay home, relax, enjoy yourself.”

And this final remark is taken from http://hollywoodlife.com/2016/04/05/donald-trump-ted-cruz-insults-gop-candidates-election-wisconsin/

Prior to the Nevada caucuses in February, Trump said at a rally: “I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He is like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal with. He is like a little baby: soft, weak, little baby by comparison. [He’s] the single biggest liar I have ever dealt with.”
