I didn't mean it as an insult, just a description. I find Facebook to be useful--keeps me in touch with people from my hometown and my friends and relatives.

last time I deleted my Facebook account many of my friends and family literally thought I died lol.... For some reason in todays day and age people forget that things like phones exist. I mainly use it to keep in touch with my family. I rarely post anything on there but I'll use the messenger thing to talk to people on occasion. How folks can put their entire lives on that thing is beyond me though. Maybe I'm just paranoid or love my privacy too much or something but to me posting on Facebook that I have arrived at this restaurant at this time and taking pictures of my food there just seems stupid. But hey, new generation I guess, I'm sure we did plenty of things that made our parents roll their eyes as well so I can't be too hard on them.
How do you know? You claim not to be on Facebook. You just made a typical Facebook like post. Sounds like you would do well on Facebook. BTW, Facebook got it's start on college campuses--initially you had to have a college email address to join. Then a little later, they allowed the college students to invite others. Then, it became open for all. - - - Updated - - - It is. It's a much easier way to keep in touch with people. I wish that I had Facebook when I was in college. I'd like to know what some of the people I knew are up to these days. Facebook contact doesn't usually change, while phone numbers, snailmail address, email addresses all change.
It's super convenient for parties too. And their chat feature is nice because almost everyone has it available in their pocket all day long, and setting up a group chat is easy. Free text messages that work really well.
