I probably start way more threads than I should, but who cares?

Test your EQ here; https://psychology-tools.com/empathy-quotient/ and post your result - Did you get the result you expected?

    My result:
Kind of expected me to score quite low and I sometimes joke about being borderline Aspie and so do some of friends. :p

Maybe it asked to many questions involving white males, or Russia?

I feel the test is quite Anglocentric tbh. Swedes in general are just a little more reserved than people from the Anglosphere. This does not mean we lack empathy.

    Some questions were just dumb.

Lolz. Anyone who did not totally disagreed on this one is a liar.

So, what is really the most empathetic answer here? :confusion:

Whooooaaaaa. Ridiculously high imo. I'd argue it should be considered a disorder to have too high of a number too.

I also scored 28, but feel the format was biased. Further, I'd like to take the opportunity to admonish you for your lack of compassion, but it's not my problem ... :)

I think it ignores a large part of humanity entirely: those with varying degrees of trouble with emotional development due to issues with developmental psychology. As a consequence of parenting by people lacking a good understanding of developmental psychology, it is very common for children to not get the emotional support they need for good emotional development. A person can be emotionally "stuck" at a young age because parents didn't know how to contribute to the building of confidence or self-esteem during the window of opportunity at age 2 or 5 or 7.

For many of us "senior citizens" such emotional difficulties resulted from a popular but sorely misguided philosophy that was prevalent when we were small children. One of the common elements of that philosophy was that the parent should be careful to avoid allowing the child to become too confident and self-assured because it could give him a "big head".

A person who fell victim to such philosophies would be likely to have difficulty being able to sense when he is being too persistent or stubborn in social situations. He might have trouble sympathizing with others who are having a problem of their own.

It's far too simplistic to just attribute such troubles or shortcomings to autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.

Well in that case don't dare ask a single Democrat Politician
to take the test. They would flunk with flying colors even before they
answered the first question.Kinda like how a shifty-eyed convict looks
    whose on the lam.

What an overly simplistic "test". Let me get this straight; I'm supposed to find appeals to emotion in an argument appealing? Let emotion get in the way of logic? As much of the "test" was centered around the idea that if someone responded to you with emotion then that should sway your thinking. I don't think this "test" is a good indicator of mental illness. I'm pretty sure that this kind of test is what leads to many tumblr self diagnoses.

    23. I guess it's a good thing that I work by myself. Maybe I am the way I am because I have worked by myself for the last 23 years.
