Obama Surprises Tearful Biden With Presidential Medal of Freedom.....


President Obama had a surprise for his vice president on Thursday. He paid tribute to his "brother" Joe Biden as the two prepare to exit the White House in a little more than a week. He joked with Biden about his now infamous "aviator" sunglasses and "bromance" the internet can't get enough of. More seriously, he recognized Biden's efforts in combating sexual assault.

At no point in his presidency, Obama said, did he regret his decision to pick Biden as his running mate. He thanked the Bidens for their work and for their friendship, while paying tribute to their children, including the late Beau Biden.

But, Obama had more than a speech prepared for his friend. At the end of his remarks, the president shocked Biden when he announced he would be awarding him with the presidential medal of freedom. Biden had been choking back tears throughout Obama's remarks, but upon hearing he'd be receiving the medal, he turned around and sobbed into a handkerchief.....snip~

No politician should be given the Medal of Freedom. Yet here is the Peep handing it out to his own VP. What do you think, does Joe Biden a career politician deserve such an award?


BO likes to pass out medals since he could never earn one. Of course this is one of his last few chances for him to practice putting some bass in his voice. Now he can get back to his norm. 7 more days and it can't come soon enough for this mope.

 

Meh, it's a discretionary award that a POTUS can give. If Obama wanted to recognize Joe for all of his years on the taxpayer payroll then so be it.

 

Politicians love giving each other awards...almost as much as Hollywood elites!

 

I wrote about this on another forum this morning. My thoughts are this. President gives Biden nation's highest civilian award.. blah blah blah. Last week Ash Carter gave Obama the nation's highest award for non combat service to Obama.

What we can safely say is: History will not be kind to the Obama team. Might as well give each other medals to create a fiction of their historic contributions.

Can you even imagine what a Hillary presidency would have done? She would have given herself a Congressional medal of honor for her heroism on the beaches of Bosnia.

This is what petty dictators do. Obama being reduced to comparisons with folks like Papa Doc... grim.

Well he gave a whole bunch of them to Hollywood and Music Entertainers to.....The Presidential Awards should be for the common people. Those who rose above the cream of the crop.

Definitely not to some career politician who has been on the dole all his life.

 

Biden, himself, said that he didn't deserve it. He should know.

 

The word hero has become cheap. Nowadays everybody is a hero...

 

I had seen a couple on other forums and what was quite funny.....is not in any one of them, could the leftness name one thing Biden did as a Senator. Without looking it up.

Oh and then they threw in that bit about him Heading up the research on cancer. He just started doing that 7 and half months ago.

Now.....I am not saying Biden isn't a good guy. But that's no qualification for this Medal.

Obama has handed these things out like candy--Lorne Michaels, Ellen DeGeneres, Loretta Lynn, Bill Clinton...

 

Huzzah! Not that I particularly care about Biden, but it's the sort of harmless gesture that gets the chronic snivelers is a tizzy.

Obama has given more Presidential Medal of Freedoms than any other President. One has to think the rarer the awarding the more precious the medal.

 

Let him give it out to all of his snowflake warriors.. it is only proper for him to give a trophy to everyone who participated.. that is the liberal way, isn't it?

That is a lie. He gave one to Chita Rivera, and Stephen Hawking, in 2009, Merkel in 2011, and Biden yesterday.

So retract your false claims or admit to spreading false propaganda. you lie!

 

He gave out 20 or so a couple weeks back. The press went crazy scrambling over themselves to describe just how "special" that event was...
