The business as usual for the left has been that they can make outlandish charges against republicans and the republicans were supposed to sit mute and take it. That scenario was supposed to prove that the leftist was right and the republican was wrong. Now--------------we see the nutso Lewis claim that Trump is not a legally elected president. The old way was Trump was to just sit quiet and take that lie. But now what Trump supporters like, even love, is the fact that Trump fights back against this total lie. Fool libs like Lewis need to understand that the rules have changed, and they need to expect push back.

I've long agreed and many friends say the same. The establishment right made a habit of taking it on the chin and never complaining much less fighting back. Appeasement became the methodology of swaying minds. A strategy of weakness never works well in the real world. This is essentially what paved the way for Trumps victory. The left wishes to distance themselves from a Trump presidency but in reality it was thier egregious behavior coupled with Rino pacifism that finally woke up enough voters. IMO people who voted for Tump did not see this election so much as a left vs right thing. They saw years of a seriously broken system chugging along in dysfunction unable to fix itself. Trump is the people's hand grenade tossed into the machinery. Those happy with constant dysfunction may not like it but too bad. The left had a good long ride demonizing those on the right for decades. Time to learn some new tricks.
While I did not see Lewis full statements, it's obvious that Lewis was attacking Trump- and opened the door for an adversarial action. Probably better if Trump had not given him the added exposure by replying, but then the rules of politics are indeed changing. We're used to wimps that fear criticism and duck. This one has a little more backbone than the last few.

I think people understand perfectly well that Trump fans relish in the fake bravado of Trump taking on his "enemies", and in the lashing out at anyone who dares criticize their hero. Plus, their joy in bragging and taunting Dems has been thinly veiled or all open for everyone to see after the election. This is all behavior I would expect from my middle schooler, but not from 78 year old men like yourself. It shows that Trump fans treat this like some sort of sports match, in which taunting the other team is expected. Unfortunately, the future of the country is at stake, and daily Trump tweets disparaging his critics will do nothing to make the country better. In contrast, the coming irresponsible tax cuts will throw the country into another great recession, similar to what happened after the GWB tax cuts.
