    Motorist who aided wounded trooper
    recalls fear, confusion

PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona man who helped a wounded state trooper said Friday he was afraid and confused when he saw three bodies and pulled over on a freeway.

Authorities say another motorist had just shot and killed a man who wounded Trooper Edward Andersson early Thursday on Interstate 10 west of Phoenix.

    <edit>
"The officer would have been dead had the good Sam not arrived and not fired," Schober said.

Arizona and virtually all states have a "defense of third person" law that allows someone to use deadly force against another who is threatening or injuring a third person.

Now, why don't be witness more such stories?
I am sure they are there but, celebrating the Second Amendment is so NOT PC

Nor will I obstruct your right to do so.

Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic,
regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.

I just love happy endings like this...

You don't hear these stories because they don't fit the liberal agenda.

I have packed all my life.

Years ago my wife and I were among the

first to get our conceal to carry permits..

You have always been able to carry open in Kentucky..

I would hate to have to shoot another

and I would hate it if I had to take another's life.

But when it comes to protecting my little girls

daddy and my family I will blow the their

    friggin head off..........

Well, good for the CC guy.

I've often wondered what I'd do if faced with a similar encounter. Could I immediately distinguish who the bad guy(s) are and take them on?

Or would I flee in panic like the driver did in the fictional movie scene in Fargo after seeing a State Trooper being dragged away?

Strange how when I have said people in the ghettos need to arm themselves and do the same thing in order to protect innocents from police crimes against the unarmed, the right wingers get all upset. Yet, that is precisely what the 2d Amendment is all about.

Thankfully, the PC BS may have been one of the things tossed overboard this last election cycle.

Yes. A clear case of someone willing to exercise good judgement and the use of force to protect someone under attack. Well done.

Sorry, this is a specious argument. The police operate under Color of Authority. There is no such thing as protecting innocents from the police.

A gun is not protecting your little girls ..... much.

All this yapping about the 2cnd amendment is going on but no one seems to care much about every other part of the constitution and the principles on which this nation was founded - individual rights and freedoms - being trashed.

When "the state" comes after you ... your Guns will not protect you.

    Speaking of yapping.....

You really don't make good sense with your statement.

And yes my guns are protecting my family...

Our founding fathers with their vast wisdom knew the

2nd amendment would protect the rest.

Your last statement is the main reason for the 2nd amendment.

My answer to that is out of my cold dead hands.

And yet, you do hear about them. Even from those terrible liberal media sources such as CNN, MSN, ABC, NBC, CBS.

If you just collect stories in which people successfully defended themselves or others with guns, that's not going to tell you anything much.

It is the equivalent of the gun-control activist who collects any evidence of guns doing damage and treats that as settling the gun-control issue.

If we are interested in truth, we are interesting in weighing up the evidence on all sides, not cherry-picking cases that support the conclusion we want to reach.

Gun control laws were originally meant to keep guns away from free blacks. Can you cite which gun laws you are referencing above?

While us nonracists would applaud them for exercising their rights peacefully. If they got a permit and advertised I bet they would get a lot of other gun owners that were not black to march as well. No leather in Kentucky though it gets sticky.

IF you KNOW they are the police. I still hope we never find out how the courts will resolve the first time a "good guy with a gun" shoots an undercover cop.

And you miss the entire point of his argument. By the time you need a gun to fight the government you have already lost, your freedom is LONG gone by that time; dead and buried, as you soon will be if you continue to think you have it. In re your own protection; a gun may or mayn't help, in re the government; the gun gives you NOTHING, nothing more than an illusion, and, in fact, unscrupulous lawmakers may be using that very illusion to take away your real freedoms

I'll betcha that very few conservatives know that a lot of the present 2nd Amendment law goes back to cases brought by those very same Black Panthers and other armed black groups in 1967. (well not the very same, the New Black Panthers claims to be rather different than the old, which is, I believe, defunct)

I think we hear about ALL of them, in fact. I simply can't fathom that any news reporting org would let this story go. Yeh, the Brady Newsletter might not cover it but the KKK Weekly isn't going on about the latest black scholar awards either, just about every real news org is going to cover this.

Then again what do I know. The gun advocates press regularly reports that something like 3 or 4 times the number of crimes that are reported are foiled by gun wielding victims. While I might be willing to believe that many people are understandably reluctant to admit they have actually used even a legal gun it seems hard to fathom that everybody but me must be being robbed something like 2 or 3 times a week, which is what these figures imply

In the inner cities gangs are armed but the overwhelming number of citizens are not. Far fewer guns are owned by regular people in the "ghettos" than elsewhere, if only because many believe police will use a gun in their possession as justification to shoot them.

The Mulford Act (California, 1967). Saint Ronnie Raygun's DIRECT EFFIN' RESPONSE to armed Black Panthers walking around in neighborhoods openly carrying guns while he was Governor of California. Your ignorance of history would be amusing if it weren't so frakkin' pathetic. Especially considering IT'S YOUR OWN FLIPPIN' STATE!!! [IMG]

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

The Mulford Act was a 1967 California bill that repealed a law allowing public carrying of loaded firearms. Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford, the bill was crafted in response to members of the Black Panther Party who were conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods while they were conducting what would later be termed copwatching. They garnered national attention after the Black Panthers marched bearing arms upon the California State Capitol to protest the bill.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP]

Republicans in California supported increased gun control. Governor Ronald Reagan was present when the protesters arrived and later commented that he saw "no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" and that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will." In a later press conference, Reagan added that the Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen."[SUP][4][/SUP]

The bill was signed by Reagan and became California penal code 25850 and 171c.
