I absolutely love the idea of Mr. Kevin O'Leary's Leadership bid being targeted to millennials! OK, I admit it, even if I do happen to make it into this leadership race I would be more than a little tempted to suggest to other Conservatives that Mr. Kevin O'Leary has many advantages over me, for one, he is so famous and has such a reputation for intellectual honesty, that he is the most likely candidate to defeat P. M. Justin Trudeau in the next federal election. My first question for Mr. Kevin O'Leary: Dennis Tate: One nation on earth has experienced COOLING in its climate since 1950. That same nation, Israel, on a per capita basis, led the world in a combination of planting trees and in large scale desalination of ocean water for agriculture, reforestation projects as well as for towns experiencing drought. Do you personally agree with me that turning deserts green is perhaps a more effective way to stabilize the climate than a carbon tax or cap and trade system? Would you be willing to take the political risks associated with the printing up of some sort of "Conservative Party Volunteerism Hour or Dollar" if the nations of Israel and Jordan were willing to accept this new currency as partial payment for various research projects designed to test this theory? http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/politics/conservative-leadership-wrap-thursday-1.3932487 Kevin O'Leary's Conservative leadership bid should target 'eager' millennials, advisers say
When Mr. Kevin O'Leary or some of his advisors make it to this forum it seems that the next most important discussion for them to read would be: http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...servative-party-volunteerism-hour-dollar.html Proposal for the creation of a Conservative Party Volunteerism Hour or Dollar. And it will also be important for Mr. O'Leary and his team to know that I am not the only one who is promoting trees and plants as the key to stabilization of the climate. ........ Global Warming
To Mr. Kevin O'Leary and his team: the economist being interviewed here is one of the most outstanding advocates of Modern Monetary Theory that I have found so far: Post #22: http://www.politicalforum.com/elect...ons-potential-leaders-democratic-party-3.html Thread: Nominations for potential leaders for the Democratic Party. You will also want to read these comments on our Canadian Central Banking system in posts #32 and #34 here by Econ4Every1:...... http://www.politicalforum.com/histo...a-experiment-can-applied-america-again-4.html Thread: Do you think that the Worgl, Austria experiment can be applied in America again? Mr. Kevin O'Leary.... Sir.... I challenge you to think up any question for Econ4Every1 and I believe that he will give you a better answer to your questions free of charge...... than you could get out of most experts who would want to charge you perhaps five hundred to a thousand dollars per hour for their time! Econ4Every1....... am I being naïve to think that it is possible for Prime Minister Kevin O'Leary to pay off the provincial debts of several provinces through the use of some sort of Canadian Conservative Party Volunteerism Hour or Dollar? Would partial acceptance of this proposed new currency by a nation such as Israel greatly assist in this new currency attaining a stable value?
Here is one way that Mr. Kevin O'Leary could perhaps gain support among young people who are concerned about climate change but are open to the idea that a carbon tax or cap and trade system may not be the most effective way to approach stabilization of the climate.
Hello Dennis, While it's not written in stone yet, but these days you won't be PM if you aren't fluent in French. So Kevin better start taking classes. I understand he didn't declare his entering the contest until after the French debate.lol Actually I'm not sure what to make of him, you have one of his cast mates endorsing his run and another opposing his run. Just a note, I ended my subscription to the economist mag last month. It became obsessed with ranting against the UK leaving that EU and attacking Trump. That mag over the past year has made a dramatic shift from the middle to the left. So as a conservative, all I've been reading in it is world events and the book reviews.
I can think of two ways in which Mr. Kevin O'Leary can reach out to the young people of Quebec. From what I have been told there are tens of thousands of teenage and twenty something students in Quebec who found it challenging to learn good English because the laws of the province made it so difficult to practice English. They know that knowing only French in Canada, or having a level of English that is just not good enough for an English language university or community college, is not far from economic suicide. The possibility of a Quebec provincial currency unit that floats free of the Canadian dollar is also worthy of consideration and discussing this possibility would get him some fans there. I am of the belief that we need to go all out to defeat the carbon tax...... but not because I am skeptical of climate change itself..... I just don't think that a carbon tax or cap and trade system will work fast enough to protect coastal communities from the probably soon coming significant rise in ocean levels. http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...s-quebec-students-not-free-learn-english.html Thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of Quebec students NOT free to learn English. https://www.facebook.com/notes/dann...rrency-unit-to-save-coastal-c/373261199364486 Proposal for the creation of a Quebec provincial currency unit to save coastal communities from threat of rising ocean levels.. March 8, 2012 at 8:58am Correction... since writing this nearly six years ago I have read that the estimates of exactly how many climate change refugees would be created in Bangladesh if ocean levels rise one meter, ranges widely. Some estimates are as low as twenty million but others estimate closer to the hundred million.
Mr. Kevin O'Leary and team: I would like to draw your attention to a group of highly motivated and well informed people who you might well inspire and convince to join one of Canada's political parties and become more active and vocal. Nova Scotia's teachers who are in a dispute with our provincial Liberal government: http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...pdate-teachers-nova-scotia-liberal-party.html Subject: Government Update on Teachers (Nova Scotia Liberal Party) ....... Mr. O'Leary..... you are an exceptionally good speaker who gets to the heart of problems quickly..... and you will notice in that discussion I attempted to inform teachers about what really is happening and why. In 1974 Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau made a colossal error...... he probably had good intentions and perhaps it was largely a desperate measure to keep Quebec within confederation BUT........ what he did has led to an inflationary cycle that has eroded the value of hydro-electric power from Labrador...... as well as any fixed income such as pensions. The vast majority of economists in Canada have not had the intellectual courage to clearly explain what has happened to Canadians and P. M. Justin Trudeau and his team don't seem to be willing to admit what happened either. Three economists did explain this brilliantly back in 1995 so I quoted them several times in that discussion. Your plan to connect Alberta's oil fields to refineries in central, eastern and Atlantic Canada is a perfect example of the type of win, win, win, win infrastructure project that benefits all Canadians........ and therefore SHOULD BE FINANCED AT ZERO INTEREST through the bank that is own by all Canadian taxpayers, The Bank of Canada. Here is a quotation from the late Mr. Jack Layton that Conservatives should grab onto and apply so that we can save Canadian taxpayers millions and BILLIONS of dollars in unnecessary interest payments on projects that obviously should be financed in a better way than P. M. Pierre Trudeau switched us over to back in 1974! "We never should have privatized our debt and turned it over to the private banks, we should have kept it in the hands of the Bank of Canada, at least a major part of it, because then we would have been paying interest back to ourselves." (NDP Leader Jack Layton) Oh Canada Movie 6 - Banking - 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1HfKIvmZGU
Just this morning I got hit with another way in which Mr. Kevin O'Leary could reach out to President Donald Trump..... I am kind of hoping that several of the other Conservative Party leadership hopefuls might assist with this......... http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=298013&page=4&p=1067075457#post1067075457
Wow! Kevin sure made some good points on how going green can affect our electricity bills! https://gallery.mailchimp.com/5ded8...ages/db0b9271-03b9-4176-bd7d-b1af5d83f81c.jpg
Mr. Kevin O'Leary and team: In the past you gained a reputation for basically being anti-union. Some unions though are different than others. The Nova Scotia Teacher's Union for example represents a group of workers who are known for going far beyond the call of duty. Here are my own comments on the NSTU conflict with the Nova Scotia Liberal government back on December 5, 2016: http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...ate-teachers-nova-scotia-liberal-party-2.html Thread: Subject: Government Update on Teachers (Nova Scotia Liberal Party) Mr. O'Leary..... the relatively underutilized expertise of thousands of retired teachers in the one province of Nova Scotia is worth multiple millions of dollars. If a way was found to inspire retired teachers to take on more students, under conditions significantly better than before they retired, this could be a win - win - win - win initiative for all concerned. Technically...... a Conservative Party Volunteerism Hour or Dollar could be used to increase, focus, organize and improve the efficiency of tutoring of students by retired teachers. This sounds to me like a database problem that many of your friends may be extremely interested in tackling?
