Sadfully I must conclude ... Yes.I just got back from the
Wal*Mart in the next town.I have to report after carefull study and
close observation that I did not see a single adult that looked normal.
All the adults and many kids in their early 20's all seemed twisted.
Their faces, bodies and clothes all looked dilapidated and worn.
Like what one would expect during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl Era.
However I remember going to Macy's before Christmas for my Cashmere
sweater and those folk looked totally different.
I think this has to do with a provincial attitude.People who shop regularly
at Wal*Mart don't take care of themselves.Eat poorly and take chances
with their overall health.Whereas those who go to Macu's are finicky about
their clothes and therefore their health. What they eat and how they respond to
aging.Provincial means how ones learn from their province. If yer neighbors
don't take their health or dress serious, then neither will you.

Good luck getting anyone to respond to such pathetically biased drivel.

    Enjoying your cashmere sweater?

    Regards,

What does dilapidated mean? Is cashmere as soft as people say it is?

I don't know about that but obesity is an epidemic. When I poke around dating sites for women my age, about 80% of them are obese. My match selections are generally No, No, No, No,No, No,No, No,No, No,No, No,No, No,No, No,No, No...

Car culture. Most of us don't even need to walk very far to get from A to B in this country thanks to cars, cars, cars. Those without an inclination to go out of their way to be physically active are naturally going to put on pounds, and those who are inactive and/or overweight are more likely to suffer depression and have a poor self-image, which in turn will lead to more issues, such as eating disorders.

Experts put about 80% emphasis on diet for weight control. Diet for weight and exercise for fitness. It's true that many people don't get enough exercise, and muscle helps burn fat, but the real killers are fast foods, sugary products, processed foods, and just too many calories. There are burgers and shakes that have as much as 2000 calories each - two day's of caloric intake for the average person, in one lunch! Sugar is added to almost everything. And bread is a real killer as well. People consume a lot of empty calories eating bread. Beyond that, bliss point engineering in processed foods bypasses our natural urge to stop eating. Foods are designed to be addictive.

But more than that, you have to care. You have to be willing to make the effort. Most people aren't. So why would I be interested if they don't care enough to take care of themselves? It's not like things will get better.

I was in a crowded branch of Asda yesterday killing a bit of time and I don't think there was one customer there with a BMI under 35. :eyepopping: With my 21 I felt almost skeletal! lol

Macy's is The best. They have sales on quality clothes.I mean, real bargains.
They are big enough to pull it off.I got a $ 150 cashmere sweater for $ 59.oo.
Just check around and see where you even find Cashmere sweaters.Let alone
    for $ 150 bucks.Marked down to $ 59.00.
The Macy's I go to also has an escalator.Just like the big Department stores
in downtown Cleveland { Higbee's & The May co. } as a kid growing up in the
suburbs of Cleveland.I guess Kids today wouldn't know about Real Department
stores.Higbee's even had electric guitars and amps { Fender }.

Sure, I like Macy's, too. I wouldn't, however, consider it some high-class department store. I do see your point about Walmart, but I wouldn't judge all of humanity by its lowest common denominator.

    I saw that YouTube.Talk about half-dressed loons.
A good percentage of Wal*Mart customers dress as if they are lounging
around the house in their jammies.
I gotta tell ya.One guy I saw at Wal*Mart yesterday really took the cake,
he stood out.He was an older man probably in his 60's and all he had on was
a white T-shirt and light khaki pants. It was in the low 40's.
But it was the look on his face as he walked. He walked kinda cocky.
And had on some Norton { The Honeymooners } look. His head was titled
back and he had this funny cocky look on his face.I kept thinking.Oh no,
    not what of them guys.The type that wear white t-shirts { like Ed Norton }
everywhere.I knew a guy who worked in the Peeps that acted like that.
All he ever wore was a white t-shirt.There are guys like that.
Like there are guys like the Fonz { Happy Days } who always wore a white t-shirt.
And groups like Sha Na Na.I think it's a 50's thing.Working class guys develop a
taste for always wearing a white T-shirt.Like I said ... Like Ed Norton of - The Honeymooners -.
This guy ar Wal*mart even had the facial expression.I can't exactly describe it.
It was some kind of attitude. You just knew to be careful around him.Like guys
that end up in a paddy wagon.Especially guys in local bars.
I also saw this kid { kinda porky and young } who had like a black eye and
blue bruises on his forehead. He,too, had this facial expression.Only it was
a smiling cockiness.Like he gets into fights a lot.So he can traipse around as
    act like some UFC fighter.

Probably the beginning of the fast food generation. Then there are video games and all kinds of things that make it so the kids would rather stay in than go outside and get some exercise.

If you went to Walmart and your only complaint is a guy with a white shirt, consider yourself lucky.

Of course Macy's is a High Class Department store. Not as high class as say
Neiman Marcus. But right up there.Back in the day there were 2 type of
Big Department store shoppers. Those who shopped at Macy's and those
    who went to Gimbels.

I consider Macy's middle-class, but I live in Bergen county, NJ, so there's a lot of rich folks and a lot of high-class department stores all over the place.

By the way, I'm not rich.

Sure, but you can still keep them healthy by feeding them right. My family needs to eat healthy because I have and had and will probably always have cancer that is forever on the verge of paralyzing me (no need for sorrows--I've been dealing with for 20 years already and I don't even think of it as a problem anymore.) Anyway, my sons thin, strong, and healthy, but when we try to throw him outside, he's like, "But Dad, all my friends are online!"

You can't win, but at least there's the pool in the summer.

Thankfully, my son really enjoyed playing outside. He was very active, skateboarding, riding his bike, going to the local swamp and catching all kinds of nasty critters, making forts in the woods, etc. :)

I avoid Walmart except for ammo and motor oil. I park by the garden center and enter there and use either the cashier at sporting goods or garden center. I duck in and out pretty quick. That being said, the customers look average to the area. It's the employees there that should be on you tube.
