    WOO HOO! ABOUT TIME

And let's throw the book at them and make an example for the future. You only have a right to PEACEFUL assembly.

    Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It's time to get the word out, go right ahead with your PEACEFUL assembly. That means you don't interfere with the rights of other citizens, you don't interfere with their private lawful business, you do not block access to people using public streets unless you are granted a permit to do so, you follow the lawful instructions of the police in the crowd control, you do not attack police, you do not destroy property private or public.

And if you do I like the 10 years and $250,000 consequences.

Most protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will face felony rioting charges, federal prosecutors say

WASHINGTON -- Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The office said most of those arrested will be released without having to post bail and must return to court in February.

A first group of 10 men appeared in Superior Court just before 3 p.m., and their lawyer entered a not guilty plea on their behalf. A judge released all of them on the condition they not get re-arrested in the District of Columbia.

Interim D.C. police chief Peter Newsham said Friday that 217 people were being charged with rioting.

The arrests took place in a four-block stretch of downtown Washington around the time of President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.

The arrests came after some protesters created chaos. Windows of downtown businesses were smashed, and police deployed pepper spray and “sting balls” against the crowd.

he protesters were armed with crowbars and threw objects at people and businesses, destroying storefronts and damaging vehicles.

Six police officers were hurt -- three of them hit in the head with flying objects, CBS affiliate WUSA reported. According to the station, the six had minor injuries.

    HELL YA?

Maximum sentence for each and every single one of these feral degenerates!

Let them spend the next 8 years in a cell.

Hell, they'll be among their favorite people ...am I right?

They should all demand speedy jury trials. The DA would drop all of the cases.

Elections have consequences as does violence and destruction.
If your neighbor protests your new landscaping and smashes in all the windows of your house and beats your spouse with a beer bottle, we'll all be sure to hope no charges are filed.

At least it would drop the majority of frivolous ones, but if the intent is to set example they only need to convict a few. I'm sure there's a good number of solid cases worth pursuing.

Bear in mind the probability that the unhinged radicals will turn these idiots into folk heroes ala Bill Ayers et al.

Good, these animals need to be made an example of. Too many people think it's cool to use any excuse to go out and destroy property and endanger lives.

I doubt anyone but the ones who injured police get more than a stayed sentence on the condition they don't break anymore laws while on probation.

Speaking of riot, wouldn't it be a riot if some of them were thugs that Barack Obama just pardoned or commuted their sentences?

Only if the DA is a Democrat.

We all know Democrats think assaulting police, rioting, committing hate crimes (against Whites), and acts of terrorism, are ok.

Why do you assume many are frivolous? I bet with most you can start with the charge of wearing a mask which is 6 months and $1,000.

The question is is that is what you believe they should for their crimes?

I don't know. It depends on their previous criminal record and the extent of their current crimes. My suggesting they get a certain sentence without all the facts is nothing more than conjecture. I'll let it up to the courts to decide.

All these protesters weren't beamed down by Scotty. Someone brought them in to cause trouble. Put the squeeze on them and find out who was behind organizing them. Then go after that person.

The kids throwing rocks can only destroy windows. The people organizing them can destroy a nation. Find them.....prosecute them.

Yes, and the government would shoot you dead on the spot for it.
Are you suggesting the police should have the power to mow these rioters down in the streets? That's what you wish society to return too? Progressives!! LOL

No it wasn't they sent the troops in and ended up in a war. Is that what you are looking for?

    - - - Updated - - -

But they do not have a right to demand it began immediately after arrest.

When there's a backlog there's a backlog. They should have left them all in jail till the trial begins.
