Jeff Sessions commercials

I'm getting Jeff Sessions television ads for Attorney General, as in call your Senator and tell him to vote to confirm Jeff Sessions for Attorney General. Are you?

I don't ever remember commercials for cabinet members before. Maybe I just missed them? Have there been other commercials for other cabinet members- Trump's or other Presidents?

I highly doubt this is targeted marketing in my area. I live in a deep red state and feel certain both Republican Senators will vote to confirm Sessions, so the commercial is probably wasted money in my area. That's why it is so fascinating to me.

Is Sessions' confirmation in doubt enough to spur commercials? From what I have seen, he's expected to be confirmed. Is that not so?

Do any forum members know more about the ad, where it's being shown, or the PAC (other than what little is on their website?) Is it a nationwide ad?

 

Yup, I've seen the "confirm Sessions" commercial as well. I also found some info on who is behind it, where it's being shown etc. A bit eerie, I don't recall TV ads for cabinet nominees in the past, if we see one for Mnuchin this could mean the start of a new trend - whereby the "money" truly runs things even more than thought......

This is just the oddest thing to me- advertising for cabinet confirmation.

 

Jeff Sessions is a confederate dinosaur, whose moral compass is severely broken. He should never be the AG, and if only one of Trump's nominees is to be stopped, this madman should be stopped.

 

these may very well be ads targeted at areas most amenable to the message. here in california, a region famous for its ultra-liberal bent, i haven't seen ads for these cabinet nominees, but against them and asking voters to contact their representatives.

 

I thought they might be targeted, but it's interesting to know that it is going both ways. Is there an online link to any of those ads? I'd like to look at them. Also, do you remember which PAC or group was responsible for them?

 

sorry, i'm one of those folks that usually allow all ads to just pass by unnoticed, though i imagine you could google it and find them if you tried. the only reason i even noticed them at all was that i found them such a laughable example of the rabid partisanship we are presently laboring under.

I'm against his civil forfeiture views, but other than that he's a good candidate who knows the job he needs to do. He has experience as a U.S. Attorney and as a state Attorney General.

Obama was horrible on this issue, but he allowed states to carry on. Sessions, the backwards confederate ignoramus, will prosecute states and try to eradicate what the people voted for. That is a fact. It's not my fault you don't care, that makes you a bad person.

These are unusual times- we have organized political assassination movements being mounted by the left towards anything Trump does. If you watch any of the confirmation hearings, you see every democrat not bothering to ask qualification questions- but launching a witch hunt from their first words. The margin in the senate is close, and the people on the left are working as hard as possible to intimidate any republicans they can into voting no.

These ads are unprecedented, but then so are the left side tantrums and disregard for anything other than their own desires.
