Why do I need more than 10 rounds? Because movies and TV shows do not reflect the reality of gunfights. See: https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/the-center-mass-myth-and-ending-a-gunfight-triggernometry/
More appropriately the question is, how exactly was it determined that not one single private individual in the united states, could ever possibly have a legitimate need or use for eleven or more rounds of ammunition? What was the exact methodology used in determining such? How is the amount not something chosen arbitrarily? What was the sound science that was used, that would prove the restriction was neither arbitrary nor capricious, in a manner that the supreme court would reject outright?
Why do you need more than a dozen eggs? You might have people coming over uninvited and it's always nice to have something easy to fix for them.
The use of the word "need" implies some requirement to justify any number. That's even more disturbing.
Youtubers like The Yankee Marshall, think in virtually all active shootings that a six shot revolver is enough. But it should be left to the individual on what they want to lug around. I often use a tiny KelTec .380. Sometimes I'll have a 10+1 .40, or a 15+1 9mm. One the other end of the YouTube spectrum is this. Supported by the fact that virtually every police force in the US issues them. I'm all for people carrying whatever they're comfortable with - but no one has ever come out the other side of a gunfight thinking his rounds hit too hard or he had too much ammunition.
There is a new sherrif in town, you gun grabbers are going to have to wait 8 years. Shall not be infringed. P. S. I heard the new sheriff gets to pick a few supreme Court justices. Rest well.
Excellent questions. The number seems to be completely arbitrary and capricious. Indeed. And that's the bottom line. Yeah, RBG is lookin' like she's on her last leg. My money is on her being the next replacement SCOTUS justice nomination.
Yeah but that video is more geared towards first responders if I remember correctly, not your average Joe. It's been a while since I've watched it so I could be wrong. Besides, nothing wrong with being prepared. Especially if you live in some liberal lala land.
In reality, sure, but you're not required to deal with the situation like actual "first responders" like police, firemen, medical personnel, etc. I can run the other way, cops don't have that luxury. The "go bag" thing is a good idea but unless you want to leave it in your car all the time, I'm not sure it's worth the effort for the average person.
because big bro has more than one thug to send against me, they wear armor, and they have 30+ rd magazines. The 2nd Amendment is about our right to resist tyranny, which means cops and troops. Most shots in combat, even at pistol type distances, completely miss the enemy. Our troops fire over 50,000 rds of rifle ammo for every hit that they get and only one hit in 4 is lethal.
If I didn't live such a relatively safe area, I'd see more of a need to carry a full-sized handgun and 3 extra extended magazines. Certainly if I lived in Ferguson or Baltimore with thugs and gangsters lurking around, I'd want Nutn's go bag on me. It's likely many there would not like my bright red Trump-Pence tee shirt.
Cops have no legal right to defend you. Even a SWAT member (theoretically) could walk away and get a cup of coffee if a firefight was too intense. At least around here the cops almost always run to the fight. We had a young man in our neighborhood high on drugs threaten his parents with a gun and made remarks about killing cops. 50 cops and 3 SWAT teams soon after detained him.
No, they don't, not in the individual sense. They are, however, required to deal with something that threatens the public at large.
Oh yeah I hear ya brother. My winter carry is a shouldered P09 with 2 more mags. Better to have too much than too little. Nutn' is the man as far as I'm concerned. The hat I'm wearing right now has a velcro "TNP" badge on it. Double owl!
