Trump fires acting AG for defying immigration ban

This should be a lesson to everyone in Trump's administration, do what you're told or get fired. If my company issued a policy and I told my direct reports not to follow it I'd be canned just like this woman was. This should also scare the bejesus out of sanctuary cities because it shows Trump means business and is going to get his way and anyone standing in the way will get steamrolled.

How many more liberal appointees and career paper pushers are willing to risk their jobs in order to follow their agenda and ignore Trump's?

Good. Trump should start by firing the entire DOJ and have each person reapply. He should at least fire the Civil Rights Division which is completely staffed with "progressives" and serves as the prog tool for railroading their agenda over people and states.

He should also do the same with ATF, EPA, OSHA, Army Corps of Engineers, and all the other regulatory agencies.

 

Lol, what is that supposed to mean? The board hands down a new strategic direction, the VP of sales disagrees, but doesn't resign. Instead, they tell all of their reports to disregard the direction of the board and to follow their direction. Yeah, that person would canned 10 out of 10 times. However, I agree that it rare to hold a political position to such staunch logical standards.

 

Trump's agenda deserves to be ignored. Mrs. Yates is a hero, and ultimately the victor in this case.

We should be more like Mrs. Yates, and refuse to uphold the refugee ban. This goes to show human rights don't matter to Trump. If this is indeed what you call "meaning business," this country has truly taken a turn in a barbaric manner.

 

Sally Yates is known for having a high moral compass. Her job was ending and she made a good stand. Senate confirmation for Session will become all about this ban and they only need 3 Republicans to change.

That was so awesome, firing someone for questioning the legalities of his executive order. This is exactly how dictatorships are born.

 

I currently have 27 men working for me. They get a 30 minute lunch. At 35 minutes, I don't tell them to get up, I send them home. I don't tell them to hurry up either. On day one they are given the directives and expections. Fall short and you get unemployed.

 

Kind of makes a martyr of Yates. She took what appeared to be a moral stand against a negatively viewed, widely unpopular hardline policy.

a presidential executive order.

I'm not sure you understand the constitutional division of powers and how this nation works: Acting Attorney General comes somewhere way, way after the President of the United States of America as far as directing U.S. policy goes.

 

The policy is supported by 57% of the people in a recent poll. It is only unpopular among ISIS, Al Quaeda, and Democrats.

I can see this was a response mixed of ego and angst.

Mrs. Yates was a true patriot. These refugees have no place to go until their country rebuilds itself, or they may never return. Just like Starbucks and their noteworthy humanitarian effort to employ refugees, Mrs. Yates was simply standing up for the voiceless. But it seems true, American patriots get the pink slip in Trump's America. Not our America, but Trump's America.

 

He's proven that he'll get rid of people who disagree with him and his agenda.
