I am one of the members of his party who is extremely glad that National Conservative Party Leadership candidate Mr. Kevin O'Leary wrote the following letter to Premier Stephen McNeil. Hi Mr. Kevin O'Leary: Hi Premier Stephen McNeil: Are the provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in the position of the proverbial "canary in the coal mine" when it comes to the potential threat of rising ocean levels? http://www.bayoffundy.com/about/highest-tides/ BAY OF FUNDY TIDES: THE HIGHEST TIDES IN THE WORLD! As you can see from the diagram in the article linked above the State of Maine experiences at most a six to seven meter high tide level. I live on a lake classified as tidal water so I view this topic a little differently than somebody would who lives at a nice safe elevation quite far inland. My part of Nova Scotia, near Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, N. S., has only about a one to one and a half meter difference between low tide to high tide. The Bay of Fundy has a funnelling effect on tide levels. Land along the Chignecto and Cobequid Bay experience high tide levels 13 - 15 meters or more above low tide. The question that is on my mind is, would a thirty centi-meter, one foot, rise in average ocean levels translate into high tides 4.5 meters or more above normal in that part of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick? 30 cms x 15 = 450 cms or 4.5 meters. Mr. Kevin O'Leary, I believe you are correct to state that the real problem that Premier Stephen McNeil is facing is not actually his fault. His problem with the Nova Scotia Teachers Union can be traced back to 1974 and a serious error by then Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau that has set in motion a trend that has led to governments appearing bankrupt on paper. It is the natural effect of compound interest over time. Three economists dealt with this problem brilliantly back in 1995, 21 years after the serious error by P. M. Pierre E. Trudeau. Looking at this problem objectively and honestly is necessary if we are going to finance an effective method of protecting the vulnerable coastline of Nova Scotia from rising ocean levels. http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...t-work-fast-enough-address-wais-collapse.html A carbon tax will NOT work fast enough to address WAIS collapse.
Mr. Kevin O'Leary: Honorable Minister Mr. Stephen McNeil: Please notice post #26 in this other discussion: http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...ate-teachers-nova-scotia-liberal-party-3.html Thread: Subject: Government Update on Teachers (Nova Scotia Liberal Party) ....... http://www.mapleleafweb.com/features/provincial-government-canada-organization-institutions-issues Provincial Government in Canada: Organization, Institutions & Issues Three economists explain why this happened..... http://www.michaeljournal.org/artic...ce-our-country-debt-free-say-three-economists The Bank of Canada Must Finance our Country, Debt-Free Say Three Economists ........... .... Mr. Kevin O'Leary...... do you think that perhaps Premier Stephen McNeil is so scared to let Prime Minister Justin Trudeau know that his dad wasn't perfect that he is here squabbling with Nova Scotia's teachers over nickels and dimes when he really should be discussing much more serious issues?
Mr. Kevin O'Leary: Premier Stephen McNeil: I have been scratching my head for about twenty years trying to figure out why in the world Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau, (who I incidentally remember voting for on occasion), would make such a serious error? Just a few weeks ago a new thought occurred to me, was Prime Minister Pierre E. Trudeau so fearful of the NDP electing a Prime Minister that the whole thing about seemingly deliberately wrecking the economy might have perhaps been largely to make potential Prime Minister Tommy Douglas or Ed Broadbent virtually powerless when they would perhaps get elected to Canada's highest office??????? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Douglas ....... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Broadbent Or was it perhaps rhetoric coming out of Toronto that so terrified P. M. Pierre Trudeau into making such a serious error? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Layton I personally am extremely impressed by how Mr Jack Layton managed to summarize this subject in only one sentence. Within a few weeks I will be able to cast my ballot for my favourite choices for National Leader of Canada's Conservative Party and I am certainly going to make Mr. Kevin O'Leary one of my top three choices. These open letters that he is writing are extremely useful to any of us who attempt to get Canadians more active politically and socially.
the big concern right now is that the government has to stop taxing their way to success. It's been the thing in Canada for a long time. all the government now and in past have been doing is swishing the same money around like political wack-a-mole. we also need to keep healthcare stable. it seems like little bits at a time things are being removed from OHIP and are paid for by supplemental insurance. I feel like slowly insurance companies are going to start paying government officials here to keep that trend going, like they did in the USA. I wouldn't mind, but I know that our taxes are not going to go down as a result. With such a diverse portfolio of resources, why did the tanking of oil nearly devastate the economy? Why are aboriginals still holding the government ransom. if they want their land leave them to manage it the way they want to. On one hand they don't want government intervention, but on the other hand they want the government to manage their amenities. Whichever government that is in power needs to do a better job at holding the reigns on stuff like that. It's easy to criticize and the population falls for it every election. BTW, I don't think Oleary will make as good of a president as he would being a trade and business advisor. And Leitch is Alt.-Right but would make a great women's right advisor. Politics have become too Hollywood. Why don't we actually elect someone qualified for the job. In the real world if I walked into a job interview to be an accountant, but my previous experience was in aerospace. do you think I will get the job?
I could be wrong.... but Calgary Dollars...... could be the perfect tool to assist in the transfer of huge sums of USA petro- dollars......... over to a proposed Canadian, Israeli and Australian plan that could keep the petro- dollar strong and stable. http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/should-sorek-2-be-in-australia-or-california.530861/ Should Sorek 2 be in Australia or California?
The geography of Nova Scotia certainly could turn out to be relevant to President Trump and all Americans. http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ump-has-a-4-3-trillion-dollar-problem.531929/ P. M. Netanyahu, President Trump has a 4.3 trillion dollar problem....
Could be.... I wonder if this article is true....... or fake news? https://digitaltechrock.com/dynamic/champ/cnntech-kevinoleary/?name=Bitcoin+Revolution Kevin O'Leary To Quit Shark Tank, Jumps On Financial Tech
I sent an e-mail to Premier Stephen McNeil just this morning and copied the message to this yahoo group: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Tate4CentralNova/conversations/messages/3672 "Isthmus of Chignecto Relief Channel Re: Cap and Trade will Protect Nova Scotian's Pocketbooks" http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ten-cms-3-or-4-inches-could-high-tide.543690/ If average ocean levels rose by eight to ten cms (3 or 4 inches) could high tide... ... rise by one meter in the Isthmus of Chignecto in Nova Scotia, Canada? This question is logical because the geography of Canada's Bay of Fundy produces the world's highest tides. In my part of Nova Scotia in Guysborough County there is very little funnelling of tidal waters......... so high tide is only about one to one point five meters above low tide. In the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy high tide levels are up by ten to fifteen meters. (Mervyn DePendleton) : Thank you for considering this option Sir.
