A couple years ago Washington State passed background check laws that require sales to go through an FFL.
Shortly after Seattle passes an ammo tax.

    Now this new bill........

    * Pay a $50 initial registration
    * Pay an annual $30 license
    * Say goodbye to 10+ round magazines
    * If inacted, after 2020, a legal owner can only sell their "assault" weapon to a licensed dealer, a gunsmith, or to law enforcement for permanent relinquishment and destruction.

This is proof that there is no satisfying the anti gun movement. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. If this new bill passes, they will be emboldened to go after even more.

Fortunately, by the time this (or similar) laws get to the SCotUS, it will have a 6-3 conservative majority.

But yes: This only proves the inanity of trying to compromise with the anti-gun side.

Aren't the state lawyers familiar with Watchtower vs Village of Stratton?

If they are, they don't care - they have the 9th circuit to back them up.

washington was one of two states that would have still supported hilary if only property owners could vote. The main purpose of these bills are to create a bigger Democrat majority by causing pro gun voters to move to other states

I wonder why the gun control advocates haven't picked up this thread.

ultimately we are going to have a civil war over the second amendment. the Bannerrhoid politicians are hoping people don't comply so they can be jailed. I would hope someone facing jail and having their life ruined for non compliance with unconstitutional laws resists. but that is going to cause a war-and that is what the BM wants even though if its widespread enough, the BM would be wiped from this country

Washington, like Oregon, non-stop looks for ways to put poor black and Latinos in prison to keep their states extra very white. The goal is to find ways to imprison poor people for not paying the fees. The white liberals of the Northwest are the most racist, bigoted people in the USA. They not stop engage in economic war against minorities and the poor.

Florida is one of the few states that does not allow open carry and has many other anti-gun laws far beyond any federal restrictions such as ammo restrictions.

no one takes your baiting seriously anymore. You prove what many have said about the anti gun posters and the movement itself-its all about harassing honest gun owners because left-wingers like you don't like the fact that the NRA helped Trump get elected. It has nothing to do with crime control or public safety-its all about you sticking it to people whose politics you don't like

That attitude is why there never will be a compromise and any effort to create new gun laws will be met with vehement opposition.

Please show me the compromise you are willing to make. What gun control beyond what we have now are you willing to accept? There will never be any compromise if only our side is expected to compromise.

You clearly don't understand the negotiation process.
It is incumbent upon the party that seeks change to bring something to the table that is feasible and effective.
You offer, we counter offer. Not the other way around.

The side that seeks further restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms cannot honestly offer anything in exchange for those further restrictions because they cannot grant us more than the rights we already have.
Thus, it is impossible for them to compromise.

I am happy to offer. I have in the past. I offer nationwide CCW reciprocity. Now....what do I get.

It appears congress does not agree with your offer. Try something that they are actually putting forth.

I am not Congress. You and I are debating. I put something forth in good faith in this debate between you and I. What is your offer? This is all hypothetical.

That is a great deal of what you deal on here. You debate the hypothetical all the time. Thank you for clearly saying you are not interested in any type of compromise and are even unwilling to discuss it. That is why I also refuse to compromise and will support any kind of gun control possible.

In the interest of debate, I'll take National CCW reciprocity, and give you, required universal background check for all gun sales (including private ones) by opening up the NICS to all gun sellers, not just dealers.
