That is your choice. By the way a doctor can take away your complete freedom currently

What's going on here? Why would Congress do such an obviously stupid thing?
We can't even keep mentally disturbed people out of the White House.

The definition of what amounts to being mentally disturbed has been stretched in recent years, to the point it holds little meaning anymore. When the term mentally disturbed is used to describe individuals who support one political party affiliation over another, the term no longer holds relevance in any discussion.
If one cannot have an argument without resorting to hyperbole, name calling, and emotional rhetoric, then they have lost the argument from their first post.

Only to those who cannot correctly define the term.

That is the modified, semi-automatic AR-15-style rifle that is marketed to the public
Which is not an assault rifle.

Pretty soon you'll be telling me a BAR isn't a fully automatic rifle.
    Here you go:
    http://www.ohioordnanceworks.com/rif...r-walnut-stock

The AR-15 was first a military weapon with selective-fire capability.
The AR15 is not select fire.

The publicly-available version lacks the selective-fire capability and is strictly semi- automatic and is correctly referred to as an AR-15-style rifle.
Incorrect. AR15 is a specific trademark held by Colt for a semi-automatic rifle.

It is popular because the .223 cartridge, when fired, packs a minor "kick" making rapid-firing possible with greater accuracy than some other semi-automatics that provide a greater kick (recoil).
And about a thousand other reasons.

Yes and mass quantities of people have been killed by other methods including bombs and poisons. Your point? Is it "ban all or ban none"?[/QUOTE]
If the anti-gun side could not argue with fallacious appeals to emotion, ignorance and/or dishonestly, they'd be silent.

That you can think of no other reason in no way means there is none.

If they had their way, Adam Lanza wouldn't have needed to steal his mom's guns to go kill those kids at Sandy Brook. He would have been able to own his own with no issues at all.
    Unsupportable nonsense.

I guess Democrats want guns too.
Donald Trump, 69.5 years old and I never heard one peep about him being a racist, until the day he said the most terrible word of them all . Republican , from that moment on he is a women hating racist .

You make it sound like the 2nd was recently rediscovered. This is, of course, not true.

In short, the 2nd amendment was made to engage with the events for that time and to argue that they are as true today is ludicrous. Comparing the weapons then with those that are available today is akin to comparing a horse and cart to a F1 Grand Pre car.
Out the other side of your mouth, you'll tell us how the 4th amendment applies to cell phones and the 1st amendment applies to cable news networks.

If you are prepared to live with the consequences of living with more than three deaths each hour and every hour...
For every gun used to commit a murder yesterday, 16,000,000 were not.
I'm more than prepared to live with an issue when the rate of occurrence approaches statistical zero.

The fact you are forced to put up such a strawman only illustrates the weakness of your position, and how aware of it you are.
