How I celebrated the day without immigrants!

Since I am an immigrant my first dilemma was how was I not going to be myself. Then how were people going to know that I was an immigrant? What does an immigrant supposed to look like? Was I supposed to wear my green card on a lanyard around my neck? But ooops I haven't had a green card for almost 50 years so that was out.

So was I not supposed to show up at the VA were I volunteer? Nope I can't let down my fellow Vets and the other volunteers. Was I supposed to not drive my grandkids to school of get them on the bus or not pick them up? No not good either.

So I thought about the deal that many of my now fellow Americans think or say that us immigrants came here to steal jobs from Americans. They must be right because the first time I was told that immigrants steal jobs from Americans was when I was 5 years old. I was yelled at by a women who just came out of one of those store front churches carrying a Bible and she said the " you DP,s come here to take our jobs and our rents you need to go back to where you came from".

Well she was right you know. My Dad at that time was working two jobs one as a janitor the other part time in a bakery. So he stole jobs from two Americans. At that time we were renting do we must have stole that rental from Americans.

As I got older I had a paper route so I must have stole that. There were summers that I worked picking tobacco, another steal.

Playing little league I stole 2nd base!!

Then I committed the real big steal of the 20 th century!!

I stole Trump's job! Yes I did it was me ! I took his job away from him, you know that job in Vietnam where Trump, Cheney, Bill Clinton, and millions of natural born Americans did not do? That's because I the immigrant stole it

 

Perhaps you can start by learning the difference between a burglar and a family member. Then you can move on to learn the difference between someone who invades our country, steals entitlements, and transfers currency --- our economic activity --- to other countries while spreading TB, Meningitis, and various other communicable diseases versus a person who applies for a visa, is screened for his/her ability to add value to our economy, and is tested for diseases.

There IS a difference between the word "legal" and "illegal", you know.

 

No! You are the one who needs to learn! You need to learn the diference between a legal immigrant and an illegal alien. You need to learn how to read and comprehend. I said ' "my green card". That means that I came here legally because legal immigrants have green cards, Once you learn that then YOU CAN MOVE ON to discussing the immigration issue for real.

 

I notice that the establishment worshiping tools seem to equate "legal immigrants" (whom we are all for) with "illegal immigrants" (who sneak into our country unchecked and unregulated).

The people who support such actions only want to exploit these people for whatever benefits them. They have a whole new type of slave class and history is repeating itself. The Republicans are taking their slaves away again.

 

You illustate the contrasts between legal, or at least earnest, and illegal immigration. I don't begrudge you the "thefts" you've confessed to, you've assimilated, and contributed. You're an American by every standard I can apply, and perhaps energies are better directed at hosting / sponsoring like minded applicants. My family, through our church, sponsored a Vietnamese family of 7, in 1981. They were with us 3 years. It was a fulfilling time.

 

Exactly ! That is why every time there is a flair up with illegal immigration I cringe because I know that way too many people will be confusing illegal immigrants with legal immigrants. The other thing is that every time there us this flair up there are those people who crawl up from under their rocks and attack all immigrants and want to stop all immigration. I as an immigrant from a long ago I know that there is and was vetting of immigrants going on and still is and that us a good thing. I also understand and believe that we need to very strongly consider slowing down the numbers coming. I know that sounds as if Inam saying" got here the hell with the rest of you time to close the doors'".

I was too young to be vetted at age 2 1/2 or so but I know that my parents were. My dad had to proove that he was not part of the WAFFEN SS because there was someone with a almost exact same name who was. mmom told me about how she was asked questions such as to proove that she lived where she said she did. Questions such as what was the name of the church you attended, who was pastor, what did such or such item cost at the General store in your village, what were some of you classmates names from school, did you witness Germans killing Jews, when where?

 

I have worked with refugees from the former Soviet Union and from former Soviet Republics off and on since
1989. My emerge' group and I personally was good at helping immigrants put together job resume's since I had the experience of interviewing people for my department and I am bilingual- no Spanish.

BTW since I was so young as an immigrant not only do I not have any memories of the refugee camp where I was born I did not have to assimilate I grow up as an American. My parents of had to assymulate!

 

Both sides to sound degree schmear over the differences between legal and illegal immigrants for different reasons..Manybir done on the left like to obscure the diference and consider the illegals worthy of legal immigrant status as you said. They are obviously wrong and in doing do they are disparaging people such as my oarents who came here legally as adults. Yet there are those usually on the right but hopefully only on the fringes of the wacky Right that hate all immigration past the date that tries grandparents or great grandparents came here.

BTW there are enough of our Republicans who use the illegal immigrant "slaves" as you put it.

 

I had some years before I retired hired a kid whose parents were Vietnamese refugees. His dad was in the Vietnamese Navy and this kid was a US Navy Vet. Beingva Vet he had a step up on the other candidates in that mix. I got a chance to meet the kids family and gitvto talk with his dad which bring a Vietnam Vet was something special.

 

The American people aren't nearly as xenophobic as the Gazis (global socialist) try to paint them as. It seems like the Gazis (global socialist) are trying to incite legal immigrants to hate "Americans" like they do.

Yes they do and they should be punished. We on the right don't defend our side at all cost like the left does. We don't follow the ends justify the means/justify any action that benefits them protocols. If sneaking people in unchecked and unregulated benefits the left, they will justify it any way they can.

 

You might also realize that any green card holder that commits a crime, even some misdemeanors, can have that green card taken no matter how long they've been here.

 

You should learn to read. I made no reference to you. Nothing like a genius who harvested votes from illegals, had the benefit of counting illegals in establishing the number of House districts / electors ,,, ended up with 3 million more legal and illegal votes ,,, including convicted felons who were registered in VA for the purpose of the 2016 election ,,, and somehow managed to lose the election,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,THEN blamed the world for the loss. Nothing more satisfying than watching a vile, nasty, intolerant so-called progressive lose control.

 

You have allowed yourself to be sodomized by the radical leftist organizations who have been behind these pro illegal alien demonstrations like a "Day Without An Immigrant."

The first "Day Without An Immigrant" was held on commie/socialist day, May 1st, 2006 and it was actually suppose to be a "A Day Without An Illegal Alien" and if failed and backfired because for one day it was like back when America was still great. No traffic. they got the orders right at McDonalds the cops had nothing to do as crime significantly dropped for one day in cities that have a large illegal alien population.

And the thousands of Mexican flags and red Che Guevara t-shirts didn't help the leftist pro illegal alien, open borders and amnesty agenda.

The radical left always like to combine law abiding legal immigrants with criminal illegal aliens who have no respect to America's sovereignty, the rule of law or the Constitution.

Illegal aliens are not immigrants and shouldn't be combined or associated with legal immigrants, it's an insult to all immigrants.

 

You remind me of a few of the guys I was in Vietnam with. All they do is talk about being a veteran ....... like everyone really cares what we did 50 years ago. Being a vet has nothing to do with filling up the car with gas or buying washing powder at the corner store. Nobody wants to hear about it. I don't care if you are an immigrant. Does anyone care? I bet Trump doesn't give a crap either. And don't pretend his policy on immigration has anything to do with you. It doesn't. So if someone starts to talk about him being a vet while your'e waiting in line at KFC, tell him to shut up. And if we hear you pretending to be indignant about Trump's new immigration policy and how it DOES NOT AFFECT YOU we will tell you to shut up. Deal?

I celebrated by cutting my own lawn and making my own Tacos for lunch, neither are rocket science and I did the jobs the way I liked them done. The Tacos were marinated skirt steak topped with avocado, lettuce, pico de gallo and a splash of Tapitio Hot Sauce. They were damn good too.

You are not the immigrant they had in mind when the day was organized. You did things the right way.

The protest was about those who may get deported for stealing identities or committing other felonies.

 

ALL of my Grand Parents were immigrants from Portugal in 1900. They immigrated here legally through Ellis Island, had sponsors, jobs waiting for them and learned to speak English as fast as they could. My Dad and his 2 brothers loved this country and never considered themselves Portugese-Americans, they were just Americans. Enough so they joined the military and fought in WWII. The thing is my Grand Parents became all Americans in every sense of the word........

We need to get back to this or our country will sink to warring ethnic/religious factions that will destroy our country. All one needs to do is look at the marches that have turned to rioting and looting over the last few years.

 

I celebrated by not showering before I went to work.

 

I am very aware of that and even though I was not one to commit crimes I was glad to give up my green card for citizenship 50 years ago at age 18 because I could have been falsely of something.

 

If you lose the avacado I totally agree about the tacos. I just could never developed a taste for that grew goo.
