Trump has twittered;

The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

Well, if it wasn't official, it is now;

Trumps hatred for freedom of speech (NOT just towards free press but towards the human right to exercise free speech) has finally been declared, by him, his mortal enemy.

He has now called upon the (American) people to consider IGNORING all forms of news if it's not news approved by him. (Otherwise it is, of course, FAKE news.)

Trumps says, in other words; 'Listen to me only, the Great Leader, and forsake your own individual opinions and thoughts, for I alone declare the truths of the world'.

I am not sure how much more to write to introduce this piece but; doesn't this strike anybody as bizarre? Just a little bit? Perhaps, oh I don't know, 1984-ish? Just a little bit?
And here I was thinking it might be a quiet Saturday afternoon.

NO, Trump did NOT say "ALL MEDIA" is the enemy of the American people. He specified exactly 5 - out of literally thousands.

12 people were murdered in Chicago over Christmas. Therefore "EVERYONE IN CHICAGO WAS MURDERED OVER CHRISTMAS!"

That is the level of dishonest of the OP message. Rather, it is just the 5 sources the OP follows that is the enemy of all Americans.

I have posted dozens of times for weeks that CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, the NYT and LAT are the worst enemies Americans have. The only difference I have with Trump is his calling them the "media." They are not the press or media. They are private corporations functioning as PR advertising propaganda owned by the global super rich elites and mega international corporations.

Of course the super rich elites, international corporations, and silicon valley mega international corporations want to destroy Trump. They are endlessly greedy, don't have enough billions and billions of dollars. They HATE that Trump does not support their using foreign sweatshops and imported foreign labor to drain the USA's economy, make as much money as possible regardless of how it hurts the USA, and want massed of immigrant labor flooding the USA to keep wages as low as possible and to serve as union buster scabs too if needed.

Of course the "intelligence," neocons, defense industries, defense contractors and other war profiteers HATE Trump because he will cost them TRILLIONS in war profiteering. They have TRILLIONS of dollars off of the absurd 70+ year old Cold War against the Soviet USSR and Warsaw Pact - which has literally been extinct for decade - because they want TRILLIONS more dollars for the adversary that ceased to exist literally back to Ronald Reagan - who they also INTENSELY HATED OPENLY. Of course they want Obama's civil wars, world policing, military overthrow of governments, and terrorism all over the world.

He did not say ALL. President Trump identified 5 out of THOUSANDS. But he is wrong in that they are not "media." They are advertising and PR marketing corporations for the wealthiest people and corporations on earth - shielding themselves from liable and slander and hoping people believe their propaganda because they USED to be media news and the press. But the super rich bought them ALL out years ago for their own profit and power motives.

 

Where is Trump deciding anything for you? It's not like he's forcing you to buy a product or be penalized if you don't.

From the tone of your post I get the feeling you'll decide who you want to listen to as long as it agrees with your outlook rather than reality. The media is intentionally publishing false and misleading stories and if that's what you want to believe then have at it, just don't continue that claim about being among the class of the highly educated.

The other thing they do, obviously, as the AP did here, is straight-up lie. But that's not a new tactic for this crew.

Always read the article or the original documents. Getting freaked out? Is their viral hysteria infecting you?

Put aside the false claims and primal yelps they're making on social media and go to the original article -- or, when they deign to supply it, the original document they're blatantly misrepresenting.

The media outlets Trump cited are not media or press. They were for-profit corporations that were going belly up due to the Internet. The global super rich and mega corporations bought them out not really concerned that they lose money as they get hundreds of billions of dollars in corporate propaganda out of them, adding that many people believe their advertising.

However, those PR propaganda wings of the global super rich elites are screaming, ranting, telling every lie and personality attack they can think of for another reason. They are becoming irrelevant. They know what few people do. Almost no one watches cable or television news and less and less read newspapers.

The COMBINED viewership of FOX, CNN and MSNBC, the 24 hr news networks, is just over 6 million. Over 120 million people voted and there are over 200 million adult citizens in the USA. That mean that LESS THAN 5% of voters EVER watch ANY of those networks and only about 2.5% of adult Americans watch. Viewership of all 3 is aged and fading away.

As a news source, they are not 1/10th as accurate, truthful or investigatory as the National Enquirer.
